COMMENTS FOR PSYCHO-PASS
Both Trickster and Psycho-Pass are anime worth seeing for anyone who enjoys questions of morality or likes crime dramas or anime set in a realistic society of the future. In many ways they are very similar, but there are some significant differences too, enough to pleasantly enjoy watching both without feeling like one is a rehash of the other.
Similarities between Psycho-Pass and Trickster:
* Both anime feature the basic "good guys versus bad guys" premise.
* Both anime blur the lines of morality by calling into question whether the good guys are truly good and the bad guys truly bad.
* The "bad guys" in both anime employ terrorism and charismatic brainwashing of everyday citizens to strike against the "good guys" while taking very little action themselves.
* Both are set in a near-future society where the lives of average citizens are heavily influenced by the technology they use.
* The "bad guys" in both anime are seriously sexy. Some of the good guys are too!
* Both anime feature predominantly (but not exclusively) male casts.
* Romance is not a major aspect in either anime, but specific relationships in each lend themselves to ambiguous possibilities.
On the other hand:
* The society portrayed in Psycho-Pass is more dystopian and dark, while the world of Trickster is mostly a bright, optimistic view of the future.
* Police and para-police forces take on the role of the "good guys" in Psycho-Pass, while in Trickster, the focus is on a private detective agency's employees.
* The cast of Pyscho-Pass is primarily 20- through 35-year-olds, while the cast of Trickster is mostly teens.
