COMMENTS FOR HAIKYU!!
A gift for sports fans, both series delivers themselves with competitive teamwork and plays that focuses on development. The main characters has a passion for the sport that they are playing and works towards their goal to becoming stronger each episode. Their teammates helps them along the way while tackling through difficult obstacles. It is realistic as we see how much the characters grow through their development over the course. I recommend both series especially if you're the type into sports with competitive team play.
When I watched this show, one thing constantly popped up in my head. That was, "This show is incredibly similar to Haikyu".
Not only do these shows revolve around high school sports, but the main characters are determined first years who are striving to be the 'ace' of their team. In an instant, they develop a rivalry with another boy but realize quickly that the team cannot do well without either of them. The main event of both shows is the yearly national high school tournament in which they partake, attempting to bring back their high school's former glory. With lots of practise and intense matches, both main character's skills begin to shine, gaining them acknowledgement from their 3rd year seniors who for them, this will be one of their last if not their last high school tournament.

COMMENTS FOR BIG WINDUP!
Both are comedy, sports anime centred around high school baseball. Both main characters (Mihashi from Ookiku and Eijun from Daiya no A) are pitchers. The catchers for both Ookiku and Daiya no A are pretty smart and they also get a lot of screen time. Ookiku has more detailed baseball rules explanations; Daiya no A is more light on the explanations and focuses a lot on creating tension, cliffhangers and comedy parts.
Differences:
1. Ookiku has a more laid-back and slice-of-life feel to it; both the art and the soundtrack. In this regard, Daiya no A has a kick-ass soundtrack and sound effects (a ball hitting the mitt, the batting sound, etc) are really stressed (adds tension to the scene and really makes it come alive!)
2. Ookiku's team is a newly-formed team with only 10 members, while Daiya no A's team is from a prestigious baseball high school. The supporting cast members are all great. You'll find at least 3 or 4 you'll like (and will bet that Tetsu captain will be one of them :p)
3. Daiya no A's pitcher is the opposite of Mihashi: loud, brash and confident. They do share one thing: both love to pitch and don't want to leave the mound. :)

COMMENTS FOR KUROKO'S BASKETBALL
Although one's about baseball and the other basketball, they both contain the same excitement and adrenaline that you can't get anywhere else.
When watching both shows, you can feel the love and passion for the sport coming from the characters as it slowly rubs off on you.
The production company is the same (Production IG), so you can expect high quality animation from both.
If you enjoyed one, you'll probably enjoy the other.
COMMENTS FOR MAJOR S1
Both anime are about baseball, both main characters are not intelligent however they are excellent at baseball and get stronger as the story progresses.
However Major focuses more on the protagonist while diamond no ace goes more in depth into the entire team and the other teams.

COMMENTS FOR YOWAMUSHI PEDAL
Sports heavily dependent on strategy and trust in the ones on your team. Shows how your emotions can get the better of you if you don't keep yourself calm. A lot of simple mind games are played, meaning players try to read the other players actions before they do it. Because of this the games/races are very long analyzing every single play that makes a difference. Both anime are very technical.

COMMENTS FOR CROSS GAME
Cross Game and Diamond no Ace are anime series with a sports theme relating to baseball. The main male protagonist gets involved with the sport. Throughout both series, the main male protagonist trains himself to become better and earn a reputation.
There is competition in both series while also holding a degree of comedy.
They both also takes place in a school environment as the main characters meets both friends and rivals.
COMMENTS FOR SLAM DUNK
They are both written in the same way just one is baseball and the other is basketball.
Both mc start off as amateurs and are lovable idiots who go through tons of character growth in their respective series.
While other shonen sports anime have characters that are already decent at the sport they play, the mc in both these series literally start from the basics to work their way up and catch up to their rivals which makes the series very realistic. Ultimate underdog story.

COMMENTS FOR BABY STEPS
Baby Steps features a main character similar to Eijun Sawamura (from Diamond no Ace) by the name of Maruo Eiichiro. They are similar in that they are both diamonds in the rough in their respected sports but with hard work and dedication, they begin to make names for themselves.
Note: Although Baby Steps has recently started (first episode came out on April 6, 2014), I have read most of the manga so that is how I am able to make this recommendation. I'll edit this as more episodes come out.
COMMENTS FOR NARUTO
The main characters are both fools who want to reach for the top of their respective fields. They usually use their innate talent and determination to break through the barriers set by their peers, who look down on them. The main characters are arrogant and see themselves in high regards. All of their teammates see themselves as on their level or above their level. There's that girl who admires the ignorant main character without their knowledge.

Both about sports, passion, deep friendship, guts and drive to achieve anything.
COMMENTS FOR BATTERY
Baseball Sports anime where characters are trying to overcome others and further their own skills in the process. Slice of elements are similar as both have a visable progression with their characters.

COMMENTS FOR KUROKO'S BASKETBALL 2
Both of these anime are sports-based shows that follow a uniquely skilled main character that is surrounded by impressive talent. The main character tries their best to improve their own skills not just for their own sake, but for the sake of their team, friends, and their seniors on the team who have dedicated so much. I also make this recommendation because I really enjoyed both, so I thought that others would find a similar connection between them.
COMMENTS FOR ONE OUTS
One Outs is the most intense anime on baseball. It starts a bit slow, but then it gets into the game and stays focused on the mind games that a genius pitcher is plotting against a very wide range of talented or cheating adversaries. One Outs doesn't have the high school/college drama part, but its about another extremely talented pitcher who joins the team after being discovered in a rather shady business.
Recommended if you enjoyed the tension and the team work of the second episode of Ace of Diamond.
COMMENTS FOR DAYS
Here we go: Days and Diamond no Ace.
They are not the same but do have some pretty cool points in common, that while watching Days reminded me of Diya no A.
- The main characters in both couldn't be more different from eachother to be honest but they are both surrounded by wonderful team-mates and the series dedicate quite some quality time to develop them all, or most of them.
- both main characters are enrolled in schools with a powerhouse sports club (being soccer's club in Days and baseball's club in Diya no A) which carries big experience and expectations from the audience of the anime characters
- let's also state the obvious, both stories are heavily sports focused (soccer and baseball in fact) and both have an adrenalinic rythm that lets you with suspance everytime that is needed
- ok main characters, as usual, always have more attention and screentime but i won't stress enough how much is also very important the whole team overall in both series, that is indeed the key element that make these two series very similar in my eyes. Both have greatly charming teams with intriguing characters, skills and personalities.
- somewhat curious and interesting enough in both series' team the Captain is incredibly unique, kinda quiet type (in Days with the addition of eccentricity tho), slightly even similar to one another by look and of course strong to the extreme!
That said, personally i believe they bring out similar vibes and joy.
If you already liked one of these, give a try to the other too! Probably you'll enjoy both!
