COMMENTS FOR BLOOD BLOCKADE BATTLEFRONT
Tired of watching ordinary detective shows? Well then, these series should keep your mind serene for the time being. More than just your typical detective series, the mixture of excellent action scenes and fine comedy followed by a robust storyline is not only eye catching but worthy of attention.
‘Kekkai Sensen’ places its focal point in a city where the diversity of species is nothing short of palpable. Aside from the strong plot and exemplary music, the character interaction in-between dying situation is something to be applaud whether it’s comedy or something crucial. For anyone who is in possession of a godlike ability, this can serve as a blessing but also a curse due to the consequences that comes with it.
‘Bungou Stray Dogs’ lays its foundation in a city where in the midst of a normal daily society, organization from two separate allegiances battle it out to achieve their desired goals. The show illustrates the result of one’s ability when used in a wrong way whether it’s by influence or self-gratification. The standout comedy and extreme scenes plays directly in favor to the overall impression of the show. Character-wise, one can only judge his/her worth by firm action because at the end of the day it’s the choices along the way that matters and fate is not something anyone should abide by.
Both involve a bunch of misfits with supernatural powers banding together to investigate supernatural phenomena. Both have quirky characters with unusual powers. The protagonists are straight charaters caught in a group of weirdos. Both employ a similar style of slapstick comedy with ludicrous situations and exaggerated expressions. Action scenes in both are very stylish. Bungou Stray Dogs is heavier on comedy though.

COMMENTS FOR HAMATORA THE ANIMATION
As soon as I started watching Bungou Stray Dogs I immediately thought about Hamatora. Both series have people that have extraordinary abilities that require some sort of activation. For example, in Bungou Stray Dogs, Dazai-kun must touch the person whose ability he wishes to nullify and in Hamatora, Nice must be wearing headphones to activate his ability.
I do feel however that the tones of both series veer off in different directions. They both start off pretty light-hearted and comedic, but Hamatora drifts off into a more tense plot-line while Bungou Stray Dogs stays more on the comedic route.

COMMENTS FOR DURARARA!!
Similar kind of character dynamics, back-and-forths between light slice of life humor and serious action scenes, split character group factions, and splashes of the supernatural (featured often but not the center of the story). Details on similarities:
- Main characters (Atsushi/Mikado) are inexperienced and weak; grows through his experiences with his new friends.
- Main supporting characters (Dazai/Kida) are light-hearted, humorous, but also have streaks of dark pasts and experiences in them. They also are protectively brotherly towards the main character.
- Both animes have casts of supporting characters and various "faction groups" that they swear their allegiances to. And the supernatural powers from these characters are similar as well (i.e., super-human strength).
- Both animes have heavy supernatural themes that support a larger mystery/action story (though Bungou Stray Dogs emphasizes this more – in a cool literary twist, similar to Darker than Black).
- Both animes have a healthy balance between slice of life and action scenes.
- Both animes take place in well-known cities (Yokohama/Ikebukuro).
- Both animes have excellent contemporary musical scores.

COMMENTS FOR DARKER THAN BLACK
Bungo Stray Dogs and Darker than black share similar crime/ mystery/ superpower genres, with BSD also being more comedic, also having somewhat loose plot structure, however getting more plot heavy as the series progresses (season 2 in BSD).
They also share some darker themes and than your average superpower series, using the powers to move the plot rather than as a main theme of the series.
The only negative difference is that I don't think Atsushi is as interesting as Hei as a main character, however the support characters in BSD are pretty good so it doesn't really effect the series.
COMMENTS FOR NORAGAMI
It's pretty action packed, but also so hilarious you will be cackling my friend. The characters are 10/10 and it's just REALLY GREAT OKAY, if you liked noragami in any way, shape or form you NEED to watch Bungou Stray Dogs. If you're questionable about it (like I was) just watch it i promise you will not regret it.

COMMENTS FOR TOKYO GHOUL
Tokyo Ghoul and Bungou Stray Dogs are both series that have two groups of people who aren't entirely human that are fighting against each other. Each series has a lot of action that takes place in alleyways. In Bungou Stray Dogs, the main villain (Ryuunosuke Akutagawa) has the ability Rashamon, which is fairly similar to the Kagune from Tokyo Ghoul. Also, the protagonists in each series is very new to the group of people they are working with.
COMMENTS FOR TRICKSTER
Similiar setting of Quirks/Powers in humans and is a police/detective style drama as well.
Bungou Stray Dogs has 2 seasons also episodic in nature. Character development and back story is much more satisfying in Bungou Stray Dogs. Bungeon's aesthetic is more developed and noir.
Fight scenes are well-done and mystery elements more nuanced in Bungou Stray Dogs.

COMMENTS FOR MY HERO ACADEMIA
Both series came out right around the same time and deal with a magic system (BNHA=Quirks/BSD=Gifted) in a modern setting. Minus the prevalence of quirks in the BNHA universe, you can almost imagine BSD as a more mature BNHA (I say mature just meaning their ages because Dazai is 22 and a brat). With 90% of the characters being 18+, school life isn't a theme in BSD at all, but the story revolves around a group of gifted individuals that work for the "Armed Detective Agency," a parallel to BNHA you could draw as more of what it would be like for the characters after graduating UA.
While BNHA introduces you to their ensemble cast as a whole in a shorter amount with mass displays of quirks, BSD gives you the opportunity to really meet each of the main characters one-on-one with half of season one giving you an episode dedicated to each one.
What is amazing about how the two really overlap is how their ensemble casts really have well rounded/developed characters and everyone I know that has watched both always seems to have a different favorite main character because of all the great options presented to you.

Both shows are detective agency shows that involve each member having different supernatural abilities. They both also have a cast of varying personalities/tropes
In both shows as well, the main character is a newbie who slowly gets used to the detective atmosphere
COMMENTS FOR BACCANO!
A group of misfit supernaturals wherein the mafia gets involved and death and staying dead are pretty much plot devices played with. Large cast with all kinds of fun tropes, and a similar aesthetic as far as clothing and the scenery goes.

COMMENTS FOR TABOO TATTOO
Both anime are tagged as Supernatural,Comedy and Action.BSD's main character Atsushi has one of the most wanted super powers just like Seigi in Taboo Tattoo.Although the supporting characters are really different, the MCs are almost the same:both had a sorrowful past and both are trying to get stronger, since the lives of the ones they love may be in danger. Both shows share some strange comedy and pretty much the same course of action, since the both MCs encounter their future affiliated party because of their super powers

COMMENTS FOR BANANA FISH
Banana Fish is definitely darker, but I would say they're pretty similar in terms of their pacing of drama and mystery, as well as their rivalry with mafia gangs. Both can get pretty dark and emotional, but there's still humour and great soundtrack. Loved the way the characters in both shows are built up over time as well.
