COMMENTS FOR BARAKAMON
The second I saw this coming out I got so excited because it reminded me so much of Usagi Drop, one of my favorite slice-of-lives. Energetic, eccentric, sort of wild little girls coming along and brightening the lives of stuffy guys away from the city, these stories both share this plot. The art work is also similar, as well as the laid-back, vibe.
Both little girls are funny and endearing, and both men are subdued at first but of course fall for the amazing kids personalities.
The main lead characters share an unique bond throughout both series despite their contrasting differences from the beginning. There's an initial development as they learn more about each other and what they enjoy in life. The main male protagonist shares similar personalities and at times can become frustrated at certain events. However, they often take on life as it is with smiles and joy. When it comes down to it, relationship dynamics are a key focus in both series. Recommended for any viewers interested in a charming slice of life.

COMMENTS FOR SWEETNESS & LIGHTNING
A man taking care of this cute kid. It's beautifull to see how the characters change over time, how they manage to raise a kid and improve their parenting skills by doing so. Not only this, but the kids are pretty cute and good in creating funny scenes. They even got me thinking of having a little one of my own someday. So if you like cute kids and funny situations, but you also appreciate the realistic aspects, then this is something for you!
The differences between Usagi Drop and Amaama to Inazuma are immediately noticeable. Both are paced slowly and offer the perspective of a single average looking male beginning to raise a daughter without knowing how to. In Amaama to Inazuma the father is newly widowed, and in Usagi Drop the daughter is inherited. You may find Amaama to Inazuma a bit more lighthearted than Usagi Drop.

COMMENTS FOR LISTEN TO ME, GIRLS. I AM YOUR FATHER!
Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! is similar to usagi drop in terms of childcare, as it goes about showing how people must adapt their lifestyles when looking after children, though granted Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! is a bit more sad in comparison to Usagi drop, it is definately worth the watch.
Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! is like a trashier Usagi Drop. Added closer age gap, boobs, some melodrama, otaku and sexual tension. Some might say it's a plus.
Usagi Drop soothes your heart. Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! wants to tug on all your senses, including sence of comedy. It never goes too far though, while it adds a variety of random spice, at its core it retains the same wholesome idea of Usagi Drop.

COMMENTS FOR WOLF CHILDREN
A heartwarming tale with a lighthearted mood to go with the idea of taking care of children and parenting. That is a major theme in both series.
In both series, there is the idea of growing up. However, it is up to the parent to take care of them and raise the child to become independent.
There is a slice of feeling that goes along with the concept of parenting. After all, raising a kid is not easy and often comes with challenges and struggles. Yet in both series, the characters gets along well together and they take on life itself with that slice-of-life feeling.
The main characters in both series also has similar personalities and although they struggle at first with taking care of children, they learn more along the way about kids and themselves. It's a discovery of parenting and presented well in a realistic way.
Parents make all sorts of sacrifices to raise their children. These sacrifices are compounded for single parents. The reward of seeing their children grow is quite motivating. Both are centred around such stories and are told from the parent's point of view.
The artwork and sound track to both are absolutely great.
Usagi Drop has a much more happy and light feeling to it where as Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki has one of the saddest openings ever and a bittersweet ending, especially if you are a parent.

COMMENTS FOR CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~
This anime has some of the same the father-daughter cuteness going for it.
The main characters both learn and grow a lot from the beginning to the end of both shows.
Once you, personally, have finished both of these shows, you feel as if you know more about yourself and what you value most in life. :)

COMMENTS FOR ONE WEEK FRIENDS
Both of these animes should go hand in hand for many similarities.
-Both have very similar art styles despite having a different animators. When I see one of the shows, I can't help but think of the other.
-The tone setting is also similar. Yes its a slice of life anime and a very realistic one at that (save the memory lost from Isshuukan friends) but it touches a iffy topic that makes the heroine shunned by between families (Usagi Drop) or from making friends (Isshuukan friends).
-In terms of characters, we have the similar scenario where the male lead is the only one to initiate a connection between the heroine when everyone else doesn't. If you like scenarios where the hero goes out of his way to save the "damsel in distress" you should watch this. There are also similar support characters which from a distance helps out (like giving tips) the male lead and gradually joins in the circle.
-The overall theme are powerful lessons telling the audience that "life isn't easy". Whether its raising a child as a single father with no experience to teaching a lonely girl how to make friends again isn't a walk in the park which the male leads begin to realize after making such a commitment.
-Finally, the impact that these shows intend to give the audience hits us in "the feels". We are rooting for each of the male leads to not give up so the female lead can have a second chance. We in some way hold this thing called "sympathy" for the characters that many character given animes strive to do for our overall enjoyment on top of the warm vibe that it gets.
I definitely suggest giving these potential slice of life masterpieces a try.

COMMENTS FOR CROISéE IN A FOREIGN LABYRINTH THE ANIMATION
Both series feature a young girl who feels foreign to the world around her, whether literally (Yune from Ikoku Meiro) or metaphorically (Rin from Usagi Drop). This young girl must adapt to a new lifestyle, live under the roof of a new guardian, and make new friends. However, while this sounds like the tale of something angsty, both of these series are instead rather positive and light-hearted, though still managing to hold genuine dramatic weight to the people and situations that the girl comes across in each show~

COMMENTS FOR BABY AND ME
Children! they came in every possible shape without a guideline book; especially when they came suddenly and you are a single male! While Daikichi chooses to take care of his grandfather's illegitimate daughter, Takuya Enoki (11) finds himself forced to take care of his younger brother after the death of there mother. Aka-chan to Buko (Baby and Me) is like younger, longer, lighthearted version of Usagi Drop. Both of them feature a cast of likeable characters and sweet story that will put a smile in your face at times and might make you cry at other times.

COMMENTS FOR POCO'S UDON WORLD
Both involve men learning how to be father figures and are full of funny, adorable kids. They also invoke strong feelings of nostalgia and will make you reminisce about your own family. Heartwarming!
COMMENTS FOR KURENAI
The idea is pretty simular - small girl suddenly comes under a care of alone-living man. Not even the idea, but even the show - smiles, tears, adventures, worries, contacts with true parents, helping mates... all just looks like born from one source. But its not bad, because the main thing, thing you will like for sure, is the relations of The Man and The Little Girls, their nature and characters.
The difference is in small difference in gernes: Kurenai is an action, with fights and small amount of blood, and Usagi Drop is much more passive, with only routine, very fine routine.
Anyways, there always will be a bit stupid smile on ur face during the show. Enjoy!

COMMENTS FOR SHONEN MAID
Anime about children who have just lost their parents being taken in by a relative who has no experience parenting. Both focus on the parent/child relationship and both have some great comedy as well as serious moments. Now tbh this review goes mostly one way as Shounen Maid appeals to a much smaller amount of people. Usagi Drop beats it in almost every aspect but nevertheless Shounen Maid is an enjoyable and very quirky anime, I'd urge you to give the first ep a go if you're put off by the title/synopsis and see what you think. Oh and if you're the 1% who's already seen Shounen Maid but not Usagi Drop then.... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!! Go Watch it right now! Seriously though almost every review of Usagi Drop describes it as a masterpiece.

COMMENTS FOR KIMI NI TODOKE: FROM ME TO YOU
While watching Usagi Drop, I couldn't stop thinking about how much it reminded me of Kimi Ni Todoke. They both have similar artwork, and both series has that light, fluffy, flowery air about them. Both wonderful stories as well, though there's nothing very similar between plot lines.

COMMENTS FOR WANDERING SON
Hourou Musuko is a slow-paced show about transgender children. The animation is gentle, the characters are interesting and it's another topic rarely addressed in anime. It's a very calm but sad show, so the tone is a little different than Bunny Drop's positivity, but a very similar feel.
Bunny Drop is about parenthood, also rarely covered in anime, and has the same kind of calm art style with gentle colours.
