The persons that control both games are "unknown" creatures, envolving a mistery about what will happen later on.

Among other things, they meet other characters who are involved. All of them seems to possesses unique skills that defines their styles. COMMENTS FOR RIDDLE STORY OF DEVIL
This was a very fun anime since i very much enjoyed that the character development was one character per episode along with their own ending.
Similarly to Dangan Ronpa you must kill to graduate but unlike in DR this is a class of assassins and one target and th killer with a successful assassination will have any wish granted.
Same similar purpose for the plot/story where they struggle and compete against each other to live or to accomplish a certain purpose. I've always been interested in survival games like Danganronpa and Akuma No Riddle. Though in this anime, all the main characters are female and it's the same killing game but there are no class trials or any similar things. Though in this anime, if one them fails the game, then the loser will not be punished/executed but to be expelled from the school.
COMMENTS FOR BTOOOM!
Both series seems to involve a game like scenario where the characters/contestants are stuck in an isolated area where their lives are in danger. At the same time, there's a sense of psychological mystery going on regarding their location and what's inside it.
The main male protagonist seems to be a normal boy but gets caught up in this situation after one faithful day. Among other factors, there is thrilling like atmosphere surrounding the origins of the series. In order to survive, they must escape that isolated location.
Being trap in "The Game" means something bad is going to happen. In the story the main characters were trapped in an isolated place where there is no way out to escape. However, their is one way to escape in this mess: It's every man for himself, which means, don't trust anyone, you fight to the end. Morale, clues, and sometimes weapons were used in the series.
The difference is that Btooom, is much more of an action genre, and takes place on an islandl. Danganronpa takes place on a school, where they used clues to lure the suspect in.

COMMENTS FOR ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM
They are both similar in feeling, both around killing (but in different ways).
Danganronpa is mostly about killing the other children and gives off a more detective vibe. Assassination Classroom is a more heartwarming at first, but tugs your feels in the end. Danganronpa gets a bit sad when your best boy/girl dies (maybe) or when your OTP gets pulled apart by a thing called murder, but what can you do? Both seem very Sci-fi though.

COMMENTS FOR ROKKA: BRAVES OF THE SIX FLOWERS
Both shows feature a mystery of who is the traitor in the group?
In Rokka, it is a fantasy series with emphasis on some adventure, magic, and battles. It is one big mystery across the season.
Danganronpa is a school setting with multiple small mysteries with a final reveal.
Both also feature the main protagonist pushed to their limits, and both MCs are also reasonably smart though still just the average person in their group.

COMMENTS FOR CORPSE PARTY: TORTURED SOULS
Psychological horror anime (well, Corpse Party makes DR look extremely tame in comparison) that feature a group of students trapped in a mysterious school and no way out. They have to work together (and sometimes go against each other) as they try to cope with being trapped. As I mentioned before though, DR has hardly any gore while CP is gore galore.

COMMENTS FOR DEADMAN WONDERLAND
The essence of survival is a theme in both series. In fact, the main male protagonist is a normal boy whose life is completed twisted into something he never imagined before after a faithful day. Now he is part of something that puts his life into jeopardy along with many of the other characters.
There's a sense of psychological tension in the air as some of the characters struggles to maintain their new life. Additionally, there's also a sense of mystery going on behind the origins of their settings. The main male protagonist in both series also seems to be kind and strives to return to his normal life under these new circumstances.

COMMENTS FOR UMINEKO: WHEN THEY CRY
Both are centered on murder mysteries, where the setting is arranged by a "mastermind," or the one who has the most control over the entire situation. As murders happen, due to the characters' (hidden and obvious) motivations and relationships, the survivors attempt to solve every aspect of the death based on the evidence left. Umineko is much less logical, however, as the "mastermind" is a witch that uses magic, and the protagonist's goal is to refute magic, regardless of what actually happened. If you watched Umineko and enjoy a logical (though not quite ingenious) mystery, watch Danganronpa; if you watched Danganronpa, but prefer more ludicrousness rather than mystery, try Umineko.

COMMENTS FOR MAGICAL GIRL RAISING PROJECT
Both of these anime have young adults compete in a killing game where only one can be the "winner". Not only does the mascot character who hosts the killing game have a similar design, but they also use similar tactics to coax the characters into killing each other.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is a magical girl anime while Danganronpa is a murder mystery anime, but you can still enjoy both of them if the "killing game" idea interests you.

COMMENTS FOR JUNI TAISEN: ZODIAC WAR
They are both killing games except this anime is based on the video game. In Danganronpa, it is about regular school students who are imprisoned inside Hopes Peak Academy, but in order to gain back their freedom, they must murder someone and get away with it. I would recommend the game itself, but the anime counts as a weaker substitute.

COMMENTS FOR DEATH PARADE
The same psyological roller coaster of emotions is shown in both as the characters find out it is a game with your life at stake. From trust to disbelief, to saving another over yourself and then back down to fear driven paranoia.
COMMENTS FOR GANTZ
In both series, there is the theme of survival involving a group of characters. The main male protagonist's life never becomes the same again as they are dragged into such a game.
Skills, wits, and intelligence are tested in both series as survival is absolute. Choices influences outcomes and can result in consequences such as death. There is also a sense of mystery regarding the origins of their situations. Along with that, there is supernatural elements that are abnormal.
Both series also has some psychological tendencies.

COMMENTS FOR CLASSROOM OF THE ELITE
There are striking similarities with these two anime shows. The stories are about a set of students in an isolated academy, who are striving towards being the sole (class or alone) graduate by either killing other students or having them expelled. The main female leads are seemingly cold-hearted people who remain calm but are accommodated with flaws, in spite of wanting to appear perfect. There are characters who bear a wide range of personality traits such as being gentle or cold. The more interesting factor is that students pretend to fall under certain categories to acquire advantages that are beneficial for said students.
Because of the nature the shows carry, the atmosphere exuded is heavy and characters utilize their wit to remain unscathed by others, which includes not getting betrayed. There are exams that students partake in that tests the abilities of said students. In Danganronpa, it's trials whilst Classroom of the Elite offers a multitude of exams.

COMMENTS FOR THE LOST VILLAGE
There are multiple characters who are starting a new life/new school, but get thrown into a weird place instead! All of them have different character traits which sometimes collide. An angry one, a crazy one, a smart one, the cute one and of course the neutral one. But they must learn to work with each other in order to find out about the truth behind all that mystery going on. However Danganronpa has more of an uplifting artsy style, while Mayoiga tends to go to a darker theme.
