COMMENTS FOR THE FUTURE DIARY
As soon as I started watching Mirai Nikki, I noticed a big similarity to Deadman Wonderland. In both series there's a strange girl that will do anything to protect the boy, both have everyone playing a life or death "game" where you either kill or be killed, the characters are very similar, and in both the main girl is yandere.
There are many other little details that make them similar, but so far those have been the biggest similarities I've seen. I felt the same sort of feeling while watching both of them, aswell. Despite the fact that the art is quite different, they're very much alike.
There's a style of horror in them that I don't see in many animes, which makes one a must watch to anyone who liked the other!
Oh God, these two series. You just can't help but think about Mirai Nikki when watching Deadman Wonderland as well as vice versa. Let's break this down here and see what they have in similarities:
1) Both series has a weak protagonist (at first) that gets their life turned around forever after the pilot episode as well as special circumstances. The main protagonist in both series then meets a young girl who has an interest in him.
2) Both series main female protagonist at first seemingly playful has a darker side to themselves as well as a holder of many secrets.
3) In both series, it's all about power and nearly every one where its usage is essential to survival.
4) Both series contain psychological themes that is presented both physically and mentally with some thriller like endings.
5) Both series contains drama, action, as well as gore presented in various ways to portray the reality of the characters' survival/deaths
6) Both series contain supernatural elements
Overall, both Mirai Nikki and Deadman Wonderland are two series that should be watched only if one enjoyed the other and vice versa, at least to some extent.
Both series revolve around a forced "survival game" of sorts with prominent themes of trust and betrayal, and involve an inexperienced young boy and a mentally abnormal love interest that protects him. They also have a central theme about becoming strong through the destruction of innocence.
Both have frequent bloody violence, mild fanservice, a large cast of odd characters, and an overall "twisted" feel. However, Deadman Wonderland is more action-oriented and Mirai Nikki is more psychological.

COMMENTS FOR TOKYO GHOUL
A world where supernatural beings are isolated and not considered equal to the rest of society. The main characters are unpleasantly dragged into a world of abyss where their survival skills are to be put to the test.
'Tokyo Ghoul' features a predator and prey hostile environment where strength in numbers is crucial in order to see the daylight tomorrow. An association is only dangerous when you do not know them...hypothetically speaking, both sides could be equally guilty in their hidden conspiracies and wrong-doings.
'Deadman Wonderland' specialises more on master and slave brutality where killing is a form of entertainment and the weak gets weeded away from the pack. Character romance are merely a form of stimulating fantasy designed to shed some light within the gruesome prison in which escaping is supposedly impossible.
Tokyo ghoul made me think about deadman wonderland
the themes and dark pasts and the main being given a power they dont want thats the kind of stuff that makes these similar
Both mains have been forced into a different world with weird powers by someone
but they both will aim for something different in the plot
the characters in both series are very different from eachother so i cant compare that.

COMMENTS FOR ELFEN LIED
Both are very dark anime with disturbing but gripping storylines. Crazy violence perpetuated through supernatural powers. The main character befriends the evil (bad/ dangerous) character in both anime because in both cases, the evil character has a split personality (one evil and one innocent). This creates a great mix of emotions due to your desire to dislike the evil character but also your desire to like or feel sorry for their innocent other side. Both where short lived anime but well worth a watch.
Both these anime are obviously similar in many ways but are different in terms of execution. Elfen Lied focused more on drama and horror whilst Deadman Wonderland was more about action horror and the fight for freedom. Both also share the same way of infecting the victims with powers but in Deadman Wonderland it is not gender specific and the carriers or experiments are all held in a secret facility to be for experimental research that eventually drives said experiments to madness. Elfen Lied was uncensored while Deadman Wonderland was (Might just be the version I watched though). Both anime endings suffer from not being able to clear anything up and leaves some plot holes and unexplained situations.
COMMENTS FOR BTOOOM!
Deadman Wonderland and BTOOOM! are similar because they both feature a character who is thrust into a game of survival. The surrounding characters also have back stories as to why they ended up in the game. Both anime deal with death and psychological issues. Sometimes, it is hard to tell the characters' intentions. Many characters have ulterior motives to getting what they want. There is a lot of action in each, and they can get rather violent. They both have a similar style and feel, and the survival games in both give the anime a sense of danger from episode to episode.
Both shows are basically "fight for your life" competitions where the contestants' actions are being recorded for a game show. Some contestants are just ordinary people being forced to fight, but there are also some "crazy killer" type people too. In Deadman Wonderland the characters fight with blood powers in a prison/carnival, in Btooom the characters fight using different types of explosives on a deserted tropical island.

COMMENTS FOR ATTACK ON TITAN
Both have a similar feel to them, and ask many of the same questions surrounding loss, morality, survival of the fittest and the human condition. They even have relationship parallels in the forms of 'willing to do anything to protect a loved one, despite what/who they are', and mysterious experiments, etc.
They'll both linger with you long after you've finished watching/reading them and keep you thinking. Definitely highly recommend both for anyone who's tired of the same hero vs villain stories and want something with a bit more depth.
COMMENTS FOR RAINBOW
Ignoring a Naruto movie and Ashita no Joe (not a series about prison life, but the lead does spend time in prison), the only two prison anime in known existence. Shawshank Redemption they most certainly are not. But Rainbow at least tries to be taken semi-seriously with its 1950's setting and anti-moe 'WHERE GIRL?' approach to prison life. Deadman, on the other hand, blends a prison theme park (!?) and shounen power-ups into a bizarre yet entertaining mix. Shallow and with little planning beyond shock value, but definitely fun.
Rainbow does, deceptively, seem like it's actually going to be anime's attempt at one-upping Shawshank at the very beginning. There's even gay rape (taken to anime extremes: fat 1D doctor x ladyboy). But if the TEEN opening theme didn't already give the game away, Rainbow - in its more subdued-realistic way - is just as over the top as Deadman. The macho cheese, aided by guitar riffs, as a band of bros gather around their invincible alpha male "aniki" is quite something. The lead in Rainbow is like Kamina from TTGL without the vibrant colours and glasses--an inspirational heroic man's man that can't help but make everyone around him turn slightly homosexual. The soundtrack makes the cheese even more intense-funny.
Deadman is so far out there it's impossible to even view at is a prison drama with its ill-defined post-apocalyptic setting and school trips where people cheer as prisoners get dismembered. It's a glorified shounen fighting series where blood is used as a weapon, with prison just used as decoration. Prison life soon gives way to death battles and rebellion, so it doesn't even try to mask what it is. I can't knock it for being what it was intended to be but its stylised opening did make me expect more than what it had to offer.

COMMENTS FOR GUILTY CROWN
Rather similar if you ask me. Your typical bored to death person who is striven by circumstances and rises to meet the occasion. Both deal with conspiracy (which are strongly developed in the story) You have Inori who deep down is a physco killer just like Shiro is (Shiro is hilariously funny and strong, inori is pretty dull but very romantic). The main characters relate of course. Both weak in every sense of the word, but have great power once know how to use it...Deadman Wonderland is my top #2 anime, this anime is some serious stuff and you should totally watch it, is very worth it.
COMMENTS FOR GANTZ
Both series has quite a bit of violence and action as the main protagonist's life is changed forever after a certain circumstance.
Both series features the main protagonist in a sort of almost twisted game situation where he feels and is trapped a long with others. There also seems to be a bit of mystery behind the setting that they are in involving their initial circumstances.
Both series features tragedy as well as action, drama, and gore.

COMMENTS FOR DANGANRONPA: THE ANIMATION
Teenagers held captive against their will for no obvious reason and forced to play deadly 'games' in order to survive. Both series also have creepy yet childish characters overseeing the facilities.

COMMENTS FOR PARASYTE -THE MAXIM-
Similar to Shinichi Izumi, Igarashi Ganta comes to possess new supernatural gifts after the mysterious murder of his classmates. Both characters end up in a life or death struggle against others with similar supernatural abilities and contemplate the morality of the actions of those around them as well as their own. Both Parasyte and Deadman Wonderland discuss the overall themes of humanity, power / control, and whether the ends justify the means. Similarly, both shows have an element of the supernatural and center on gore / death as a plot component. Lastly, Parasyte and Deadman Wonderland rely heavily on character development and learning about personal truths to make the plot more dynamic, exciting, and complex.

COMMENTS FOR TOGAINU NO CHI
Imagine being falsely accused of committing a murder and having to serve a lifelong sentence in prison because of it. This happens to both Akira (Togainu no chi) and Ganta (Deadman Wonderland) and they both have a 'chance' to make the best of their sentences by fighting others in some sort of survival game.
Even though Togainu no chi has a lot of shounen-ai elements that Deadman Wonderland doesn't have, I think these anime are similar when it comes to genre. (Both are action and sci-fi anime) In any case, you'll be seeing enough fights, blood and despair to last you for a while.
COMMENTS FOR ZETMAN
Both of these series shares the similar dark atmosphere involving supernatural violence and obtaining justice. In both series, the MC is fighting a "war" against an enemy and survival is a must to win.
There is tons of action, gore, and violence in both series so expect blood to be spilled. There is also some romance in Zetman and more drama later on. Both series also contain sci-fi elements. All in all, both series are quite violent so be aware of that if you're keen on checking both of these out.

COMMENTS FOR BEYOND THE BOUNDARY
In both, the protagonist has the power to control their own blood and use it as weapon. The art styles vary dramatically (DmW is seinen while KnK is shounen) and DmW has more horror, but they both have a decent amount of drama. Both of the other protagonists who do not have the power to control blood have powers as well.
