COMMENTS FOR OUTBREAK COMPANY
Main protagonists of these series are both full-fledged otaku. While Kanou Shinichi from Outbreak Company is a more hardcore one and a hikkikomori too, Itami Youji from GATE is a more moderate one with respectful job as JSDF soldier. Both are thrown into fantasy-setting world somehow against their wills.
The main difference is that Outbreak Company is a cute moe comedy with some ecchi elements and only a bit of drama, while GATE is a more serious attempt to portray what it would be if this were to happen in our world.
Gate and Outbreak company are similiar in the aspect that they are an isekai where the characters are not stuck in the other world but still can cross between the two worlds.
In both anime the mc is supported by the japanese government to become somewhat of a negotiatior between the two worlds.
The difference between the two are that Gate is more of a military/action type while Outbreak Company is more of a Parody/comedy type.

COMMENTS FOR LOG HORIZON
The setting is quite similar , the only big differensial is "Gate" is not a Game , Gate's story line goes a little something like : a mysterious portal appears in japan and some otaku military guy have to go in the mysterious portal , and found another world filled with magic and some shit like that, but it looks like the Ruler of That "dimension" dont like guest so of course they went to War, but the good thing is
this "Dimension" doesn't have FREEDO- *cough* i meant Guns. so of course the surrendered ...
wait they Didn't , just watch it.

COMMENTS FOR THE FAMILIAR OF ZERO
Entirely different plot but both have the protagonist go through the gate onto fantasy medieval world. and there were modern weapons used in the fantasy world on both series.
Gate is about monsters invading mankind but zero doesn't have that and is summoned into the fantasy world. zero is more of a harem show and doesn't have much involvement with the military except some scenes.
COMMENTS FOR OVERLORD
Atmosphere in both is so similar! Colorful art with game themes, at some point characters are travelling in a group, buying items for crystals and money and solving political problems, like in game. Music is also similar - very touching and peaceful while they travel, showing us fantasy scenery with sunrise light and talking about friendship themes, but sometimes it has more action and it happens of course when we have some fights, because in both animes we'll see them. In both our main character is taken to another world, where he meets monsters, elves, loli girls, etc.
I would say Gate treats more about policy, while Overlord is focused on epic fights though.

COMMENTS FOR KONOSUBA: GOD'S BLESSING ON THIS WONDERFUL WORLD!
I'm surprised no one has recommended it yet. Both anime are about an Otaku MC who takes a mission in an alternate fantasy world. The heroines from both shows also look alike: a Goddess, a loli mage/wizard, and a blonde who's the tallest girl in the group. Both are action packed anime with comedy. The difference is GATE is about military while KonoSuba is purely an adventure in fantasy world.

COMMENTS FOR ALDERAMIN ON THE SKY
Both have OP themes by the Akeboshi Rockets and go for a similar, sleek visual style. If you're a fan of fantasy settings with a focus on military engagements, tactics and an ensemble cast of both male and female roles, both of these shows give you plenty.

COMMENTS FOR WORLD TRIGGER
A gate to another world opens in Japan and the government has to do something about it.
Young men are trained to fight the unknown enemies coming from the other side.
Both also share military routine as a theme, though Border Organization in World Trigger is a bit different from usual military headquarters.

COMMENTS FOR KADO: THE RIGHT ANSWER
Gate can be said to have three main parts to it: the military elements with the JSDF fighting in the Special Region, the "slice of life"/"fanservice" elements with Itami & others doing random things, and the "political" part about how Japanese and international politics deal with the existence of the Special Region. Seikaisuru Kado masterfully expands on that third part while (for the most part; the military plays a role, albeit a minor one) omitting the others: it shows how Japan and other countries react to a problem, or even an opportunity, that affects all of humanity, and makes some excellent commentary on the nature of humanity using that premise.
COMMENTS FOR DRIFTERS
This series is somewhat similar. They both have to do with war, both being in a different world of their own. In both anime's, warriors from a different era come to this other world and fight battle of sorts and because they are from a different era, they mostly over power they're enemies.

COMMENTS FOR SWORD ART ONLINE
Gate and SAO contain two very different plots, however each one is centered around a main male protagonist who each are able to become surrounded by pretty girls as they explore new medieval-esque lands they are sent to. Gate directs it's attention towards war, differences in culture and politics of both worlds whilst SAO focuses on the lives of individual characters and the struggles they face as they try to leave the game.

COMMENTS FOR THOSE WHO HUNT ELVES
Gate is best described as something akin to the spiritual successor of 'Those Who Hunt Elves'. People from modern Japan find themselves in medieval fantasy land... and they come equipped with guns and tanks!
TWHE is more small-scale in terms of scope since there are only three characters that travel to a new world; armed with only one tank. And the plot is simply 'strip elves so we can get back to our world!'. Gate, on the other hand, is a modern vs. medieval culture clash series, complete with humvees, tanks, helicopters, mortars, etc being used in battles against a less advanced civilization. Both series are basically comedies, though--it's just Gate has a more serious underbelly than TWHE.

COMMENTS FOR THE DEVIL IS A PART-TIMER!
Gate is kinda the vice versa version of devil is a part timer, where humans go into a new world and adapt, devil is a part timer being the supernatural beings in the human world. Both show's have similar interactions between the two groups and both shows deal with an overlying theme of bonding.

COMMENTS FOR TENCHI MUYO! WAR ON GEMINAR
Both have a very similar feel as isekai anime focused primarily on the inner workings of the military/government.
However, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is infinitely more shallow then GATE. There is far less story progression and the characters are pretty dull.
Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is however much better in the ecchi department :)

COMMENTS FOR DEATH MARCH TO THE PARALLEL WORLD RHAPSODY
this is similar to death march because it has to do with humans entering a non human/human world that otherwise was not known about with all that goes with it, magic, demons etc.

COMMENTS FOR BAKEMONOGATARI
I'd say that if you have watched bakemonogatari and loved it you will also love gate. Why well both deal with fantasy and mythical monsters, and although they are very very different that is why i recommend it to someone that has watched it. you can get you fill of fantasy and mythical creatures and legends from both of these anime while enjoy two rather good stories. Gate goes more in the direction of mythical creatures from another world meeting and getting to understand modern day humans from our relm. while Bakemono similarly brings together to worlds that being the dark underworld of mythical deadly creatures and modern day society. they are not exactly alike but that is the point i hope you enjoy it like i have.
