COMMENTS FOR DAILY LIVES OF HIGH SCHOOL BOYS
Despite the fact that Nichijou focuses on the daily lives of high school girls, and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou focuses on the daily lives of high school boys, there are three elements that shine very brightly and show a certain correlation in both series. The first is the underlying concept: these shows tackle some of the common aspects of being a high school girl or boy, respective to the title, as well as some of the stranger aspects of it. Second is the execution of this idea. Both are comedies, and, therefore, exaggerate certain scenarios, but both do so in a similar manner, and typically through the eyes of a growing set of cast members, while still remaining primarily focused on three main characters (well, I suppose you could say five or six, in Nichijou’s case). The responses to these absurd scenarios are typically outrageous, but always unique to the individual character who experiences or responds to it. Thirdly, the art style of both are different from each other, but, at the same time, very distinct and set apart from the art from other titles, and the music is very unique and catchy.
Both of these anime are set apart from other comedy-based anime due to their unique execution and strangely engaging, yet distant cast. If one of the two manages to capture your attention, the other is likely to do the same.
If you watched Nichijou I highly recommend to watch this too. Well if you already watched and loved Nichijou watching another "Everyday life" anime wouldn't hurt. The Comedy is on equal or IMO slightly better than Nichijou's. Also you don't need to remember the character's names to have fun (as stated in the anime) :D
Pretty much both of them are Comedy/Slice of life anime with lots of random jokes implemented in them. They also dont have a specific plot in which the story follows. However, Nichijou may have extreme events such as a talking cat, your school director fighting with a deer and even "destroying planets with laser beams " while DKNN shows the life of Highschool boys and their "boring" lives.
Nichijou shows all the characters and their traits while DKNN mostly shows "boys" acting like "boys".
If you are a fan of Slice of life/Comedy anime, you should definitely try them out!

COMMENTS FOR AZUMANGA DAIOH: THE ANIMATION
Nichijou is based on a similar idea as Azumanga - it shows everyday life of a selected group of schoolgirls. But where Azumanga drops the laughing parts and gets on a more mellow and heartcatching atmosphere Nichijou keeps its pace. Personally I consider Nichijou to be a much more wonderful, memorable, emotional experience. It made me laugh so many times and also cry so many times. And it is the first anime I truly and sincerely wanted to continue forever.
Both are about everyday life of a very likeable group of high school girls dealing with their everyday life.
Azumanga Daioh is the more grounded one, focusing more on character growth as the friendship between the girls develops.
Nichijou mostly focuses on making the ordinary extraordinary, both literally and figuratively.
While extremely similiar at first glance, they have their very distinct identities, but they're absolute must see.
Azumanga Daioh is the unofficial pre-requisite to Nichijou. The type of humor and randomness took a lot of cliff notes from Azumanga Daioh. Though Azumanga is a tad more low-key and doesn't rely quite as strongly on skits, you can see how the series work like each other. If you crave more Nichijou, definitely give Azumanga a shot.

COMMENTS FOR LUCKY☆STAR
Two major qualities are fitted into both shows. First, they are the exemplary Japanese "high-tension" comedy, meaning characters in it got ADHD and turn the comedy into something fast-paced, fast-forward Mr.Bean video if you fail to understand. Second, both feature mild sex sale, the real identity of what they call moe.
The comedy part, both are considered fast-paced-high-tension comedy because you know why. They play jokes fast, get it fast, and move on to the next joke fast. Difficult to follow but considered funny if you have some mental rewind ability, or get yourself a remote and a easy-to-read fansub. If you feel a serious need to understand unserious joke, study Japanese.
Oh and the moe part, both are considered mild sex sale because Lucky Stars give character traits that are likable in its era, specifically this era. Boke(airhead), megane(glasses), tsundere(googleit), and otaku-girl stereotype are becoming more prominent as moe anime lead. Nichijou has got some different stereotype but should be considered equally likable. I interchangeably use the word moe and sex-sale in case you have not yet notice.
Both made by the same people. Both are moe high school girl slice-of-life comedies, where the main characters deal with everyday things: school, boys, food, family, friends... whatever. They are extremely similar in almost every way, except a few:
1. The main character archetypes are radically different.
2. The humor in Nichijou is more random, silly, and dumb. The humor in Lucky Star is more intelligent, and is almost entirely embedded in conversations.
3. The main characters in Lucky Star receive 99.9% of the focus, whereas the side characters in Nichijou get a good chunk of attention by themselves.

COMMENTS FOR PLACE TO PLACE
Acchi Kocchi (Place to Place) and Nichijou have a similar trait of humor and pace. They don't have as quick humor as Osomatsu-san or One Punch Man, but still keep it entertaining. Personally both art styles are incredibly appealing to look at.
COMMENTS FOR JOSHIRAKU
They have a very similar sense of humour and the feel of the anime is the same, both are a mix of cuteness, randomness and hilariousness. Next to this the animes star almost only girls and don't follow any big story lines or set subjects. I would say the intended audience for Joshiraku is a bit older and there is more knowledge of Japanese culture, Japanese language and general pop culture needed to fully enjoy the anime. As for the humour Nichijou has more of a focus on visual aspects and Joshiraku more on puns.

COMMENTS FOR YURUYURI: HAPPY GO LILY
If you liked the pure-hearted comedy aspect of Nichijou, then you might like Yuru Yuri, they're similar in many aspects, though one thing to note is this anime is less slice of life and more comedy than Nichijou, I would argue that it is still equally as entertaining with its own sort of charm.

COMMENTS FOR TONARI NO SEKI-KUN: THE MASTER OF KILLING TIME
Both of these comedies work at the same pace, moving fast, but giving the audience enough time to get invested in the shenanigans and appreciate the execution. Both also work on the same magnitude, creating absurd, random scenes while maintaining a sense of cohesion, as if all of their events are happening within the set parameters of their own quirky little world.
Last, but not least, both have lovable, extremely expressive characters with great voice actors. What more could you ask for?

COMMENTS FOR MISS KOBAYASHI'S DRAGON MAID
Nichijou is an anime about people who may or may not be extraordinary, and their lives which may or may not contain extraordinary things. Maidragon is a bit more extreme, where it's about an ordinary person who crosses with extraordinary beings that ultimately change her life in extraordinary ways. Still, the laid-back and comedic tone of Maidragon makes it feel like a spin-off of Nichijou more than anything. Both series highlight the everyday lives of their characters, and often have extreme and intense moments despite being about ordinary things. These moments are perhaps most notable for their incredible level of animation from the studio Kyoto Animation.
In other words, Nichijou is like a more spastic and random version of Maidragon with more characters and themes, while Maidragon is like a more dramatic and fleshed-out version of Nichijou, but with fewer characters and themes.

COMMENTS FOR PANI PONI DASH!
The show has a similar type of humor that completely ignores Western viewer's taste, but rather relies on Japanese viewer's fondness of unpredictable humors. They both have a talking animal (Sakamoto-san and Mesousa), a chibikko sensei in a lab coat (Hakase and Becky), and a dumb energetic girl (Yuuko and Himeko). Both shows also have a very stylish OP theme with plenty of movement.

COMMENTS FOR HAVEN'T YOU HEARD? I'M SAKAMOTO
Nichijou and Sakamoto are both equally similar in how they execute the humor. In both shows, the main characters are all put into extremely ridiculous situations. Consequently, they are all forced to think on their feet, which causes them to respond with overexaggerated emotions and humorous actions that often do not make any sense. In Nichijou, however, the humor revolves around 6 main characters; In Sakamoto, it's just, well, Sakamoto.

COMMENTS FOR CROMARTIE HIGH SCHOOL
Absurd slapstic comedies that take place in high school but involve many surreal hilarious situations. While Cromartie Highschool has mainly male cast, Nichijou has mainly girls.

COMMENTS FOR SCHOOL RUMBLE
Undeniably similar humor with a school setting. Both series mainly consists of a string humorous situations. While Nichijou hasn't really got much of a story to speak of, School Rumble has more development both in terms of story and characters, although still not very noticeable. If you liked one of them, you will surely enjoy the other.

COMMENTS FOR MR. OSOMATSU
Osomatsu-san and Nichijou are both sketch-based comedy shows. Banking on their unique art style, often-absurdist humor and slapstick, but also being capable of subverting your expectations on occasion.
Osomatsu-san is more of a "true" sketch comedy in that the characters bring their personalities to a variety of roles within the sketches, rather than just playing the same role in every sketch like Nichijou.
Osomatsu is also more vulgar and "adult" with its humor, rather than relying solely on slapstick and absurdist situations like Nichijou.
