COMMENTS FOR WHEN THEY CRY
The two are completely insane, and are pretty dark regardless of their beginning. Both focus in the psychology of the characters pretty much all the time, making the variable of hate/love in those characters much more difficult.
They have differences though; Higurashi is more horror, School Days is more drama... but at the end, I can't spoil but School Days will remind Higurashi for those who have seen it first.
I reccomend both to fans of Psychological anime or Horror anime, because they are masterpiece on those genres.
Both Higurashi and School Days are thrillers that take you on a phycological rollercoaster ride!
School Days starts of with a boy named Makoto Ito who sees this incredibly gorgeous girl at the train station named Kotonoha Katsura. He takes her picture and dreams about asking her out but doesn't know how to!
Ito's friend, Sekai Saionji, decides to help him with his girl problems.
Over the course of the episodes Sekai starts noticing she has feelings for Ito and secretly wants to be with him. She tries her best to hide it from him and keep the relationship between them lighthearted and fun.
The story is built for you to start hating Ito as he becomes incredibly selfish wishing to have this beautiful, kind and generous girlfriend when she's interesting. And then using his friend Sekai as a seemingly 'back-up' when his girlfriend, Kotonoha gets "boring".
But when Ito's lies and promises start tangling up, and one girl is pushed past her limits, some things can go TERRIBLY wrong!!
(A/N: This is more towards romance and leans towards Shions story during Meakashi-hen if your comparing to Higurashi!! )

Okay these animes has the same kind of feelings to it. The beginning is kind of the same as well. For example there is one "girl who is in love with the guy,"(Haruka,Kotonoha) and they're "friend want to get them together,"(Mitsuki,Sekai) but falls in love with the guy while trying to get the two together. something tragic happens in both of them and makes the guy fall in love with the friend.
So the story begins.
School Days and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien are very similar in many ways, especially in plot and characters. In both of these series you'll find the usual stereotypical characters that are pretty common in this type of anime: The painfully shy girl who obsessively loves the male lead, the tomboyish, outgoing girl who becomes more and more angsty and melodramatic as the series goes on, and the male lead with barely any personality whatsoever. Both anime also have a soap opera-like love triangle that is the cause of much angst in both shows, and due to contrived reasons (mainly due to the male lead's extreme indecisiveness), it continues. However, whereas Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ended in a bittersweet way, School Day's ending was brutal and violent. I'm positive that fans of one show will definitely like the other.

COMMENTS FOR SCUM'S WISH
These to anime both gave me teary moments of understanding love. It showed me the struggle of what love is like to a certain length of reaching it. It shows ya not to betray ones love and always keep one in your heart.
Its very soothing, romantic, and sad at times. It gets your hope up and you want to keep watching it till the end.
I recommend these because its a heart warming and tear jerking series, but also heart breaking. If you enjoy drama and romance theses are the two for you.

COMMENTS FOR WHITE ALBUM 2
If the creators of School Days had gotten their stuff together and made a better, more well-executed version of the show, their final product would have most resembled White Album 2. Both shows focus on a male character who is torn between multiple girls. Both shows also feature realistic teen behavior in the realm of sexual activity. Furthermore, both shows have a plot development wherein the male character realizes that he likes another girl over the girl he initially chose. However, whereas School Days ends up taking a more harem-like approach near the end, White Album 2 stays with its initial love triangle the whole way through.
The other differences are enormously important, however. The characters in White Album 2 are more reasonable, better developed, more compelling, and more believable than the base, illogical, and morally corrupt ones in School Days. In both shows, the male character's romantic turmoil between girls leads to drama, but it is handled more maturely and executed more realistically in White Album 2.
If you liked what School Days was trying to do but were disappointed that it was a bit of a failure through and through (or you liked it and want to see something even better), I cannot recommend White Album 2 enough (not that I wouldn't just recommend it in general).
Because of its superb execution, White Album 2 successfully tells a compelling story about the nuanced dynamics of the interactions of male and female teen friends and the joy and anguish that can ensue from their relationships. School Days on the other hand, in my opinion, was a failed attempt at depicting the anguish side of this, and it could have been better if certain things had been different.

COMMENTS FOR MYSELF; YOURSELF
Similar art, character designs, and narrative flow: a seemingly innocent and at first glance generic school slice-of-life makes a name for itself by quickly becoming unpredictable and making use of shocking and unsettling but unique drama.
If you hated School Days, don't disregard Myself ; Yourself just yet. To become as f'd up as possible, School Days attempts to evoke feelings of loathing from the viewer; conversely, Myself ; Yourself attempts to evoke feelings of solicitude. This difference eliminates from Myself ; Yourself the primary element that creates such extreme contempt for School Days because the audience is actually intended to like the characters of Myself ; Yourself.
COMMENTS FOR SHUFFLE!
These both animes are taking place in school environment. I think that Shuffle is more fun-based anime, while School Days is more serious about situation. Both of main characters are surrounded by girls from everywhere. I must say that Rin from Shuffle is a guy with a character and heart, while Itou from School Days is somehow total bitch.
Althrough, I really enjoyed both of these animes as they have lot in common (at least first halves of them do). When I first saw Asa, I've instantly imagined Sekai from SD. You'll see why. :)

COMMENTS FOR THE FUTURE DIARY
Both have a school setting and a romance where one of the girls is basically THE definition of "yandere" and the boy doesn't speak his mind (or, quite frankly, is an idiot).
There's gore in both shows (though in Mirai Nikki a lot more).
School days rather focuses on the romance and the drama, while Mirai Nikki has a plot that revolves around a survival game, though the romance is still important for the way the character act.
Both can be a bit disturbing at certain parts and both are kind of hit-or-miss shows with a lot of people loving them and a lot of people not liking them at all.

COMMENTS FOR ELFEN LIED
Revolving around highly unconventional romances & relationships, both anime get cruelly dark and are full of characters (including some from the main cast) you're likely to outright hate. Both also have dated low-budget animation (though sometimes Elfen Lied looks good). Stay away if you're faint of heart, but if you can enjoy watching things get progressively worse for everyone involved then you're in for a ride.
Also, DON'T expect similar levels of violence. Elfen Lied gets bloodier than most TV anime ever do mere moments into the first episode, while School Days has next to no violence until the last episode (and even then it's considerably less than just the first five minutes of Elfen Lied). Still, it only goes to show how easily triggered some sorts get and is a big part of why these two anime are often shunned these days.

COMMENTS FOR PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA
Nope this is not a joke, these two series have a fundamental similarity which cannot be ignored. These shows fundamentally break down their respective genre by showing you what would happen if people were really thrown into the situations found in anime:
-School days shows what would probably happen if a generic teenager found a harem of girls forming around him
- Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica shows what would probably happen if young girls were given magical powers and expected to fight

COMMENTS FOR EF - A TALE OF MEMORIES.
High school, love triangle, drama. However, main character in Tale of Memories isn't a spineless egoist and doesn't cheat on anybody. There is also more than one story and one protagonist.

COMMENTS FOR WHITE ALBUM
Both shows feature "Drama" as well as focusing on what happens when a person decides to not just pick one person in a harem.
Both feature a main character who seemingly has no problem with sleeping around with multiple girls and it adapts a well known visual novel.

COMMENTS FOR YOSUGA NO SORA
Somehow both of the series give similar fealings at least for me, especially around the end of the anime. Both deals with deep feelings, in one of the animes the main point is love between siblings and the other one is centers around a guy who dates more girls at the same time. Worth to watch. Really.

COMMENTS FOR FLOWERS OF EVIL
You are a teenager, you are in love and you do not know how to express it and also a girl is harassing by knowing what you keep inside. Two series that show the darkest side that someone can reach for love and how feelings can hurt others and confuse themselves.

COMMENTS FOR
Both anime start out deceivingly happy, and gradually get darker. They both leave you feeling like shit at the end. School Days at least stuck to one plot, but Narutaru is all over the place.
COMMENTS FOR NANA
Really twisted, f#@ked up love stories.
They're twisted in the sense that everything is all cute and honky dory and all the characters are getting along at first, but then pretty much everyone becomes an asshole over time and the whole love story (or stories) becomes very dark, depressing, and dramatic ("dramatic" is an understatement)
If you even remotely enjoyed School Days, Nana is perfect for you.
