COMMENTS FOR THE KAWAI COMPLEX GUIDE TO MANORS AND HOSTEL BEHAVIOR
Similarities:
Both have the same school, romance, comedy and slice of life genre.
Both main male character have the same personality and even are in the same ridiculous predicament.
Both involves main female character, who are stoic and weird.
Both were set in some kind of boarding house.
Dissimilarities:
The female character in one anime is completely depended on the male character, while the female character in the other anime is a tough nut to crack.
The male character in one anime is at the same age and the same year level as the female, while the female character in the other anime is a year older than the male character.
kawai-sou opens up with a male high schooler having his fantasy about living an eventful high school life as a reflection to how he used to live middle school. afterwards, he found out that he will be living in a mixed boarding house together with the girl he admires just like sakura-sou.
both anime emphasize on character development between the main character and other unique members of his boarding house. of course this includes the main heroine.
that being said, both sakura-sou and kawai-sou isn't an exact copy of the other, making it worth your time to watch as sakura-sou has more comedy in it while sakura-sou has more seriousness in it.
The truth is that your relationship is evident, both are about a boy who arrives at new school, he moved to a guesthouse where coexists with quirky characters, but among them there is a shy girl who ends up liking the protagonist for what he is (Being a Lover of books or just some kind of pet) doesnt have to emphasize on its premise, but what characterizes both animes is the "hook" that has to the receiver who goes to see chapter after chapter to know how the protagonist tried to approach the girl.
COMMENTS FOR TORADORA!
First of all, both series involves J.C. Staff.
But beyond that, there are some other similarities present in both series.
Toradora and Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo both has a main female protagonist who is peculiar and not the typical girl you'll meet in every day life. In fact, their personalities makes the main male protagonist feel a bit uneasy. But despite this, they get along better later on as the main male protagonist begins to take care of the girl.
Both series also has other characters involved with the two main characters in a variety of ways - comedic, dramatic, emotional, and romance.
Both series are lighthearted and takes place at school life setting.
Both have the same amount of comedy to balance out the amount of heart wrenching scenes to make you cry with these characters who individually have to go through something different but end up overcoming those obstacles in order to fulfill they're dream. They both have that one character who always seems energetic and happy no matter what, but is only wearing that mask to keep everyone else happy, the character who doesn't seem to care about anything but just doesn't want to be hurt like they were in the past, and the character who's family matters at home prevent them from being happy.

COMMENTS FOR YOUR LIE IN APRIL
~~~MILD SPOILERS!!~~~ Please do not read if you feel that this may affect your enjoyment of either anime. You have been warned!
Well, in a sense, the main 2 protagonists of Kousei and Kaori are somewhat similar to Sorata and Shiina of Sakurasou. Albeit, Sorata goes through his "transformation" whilst trying to reach what he feels to be a sense of "accomplishments" that can match up to Shiina, while Kousei is already an accredited pianist. However, in Kousei's story, it is more about him being able to accept his position in life and being able to break out of the mental shell that was left behind after his mother's death.
The story of Kousei and Kaori is an enriching tale of friendship and tragedies that is sure to leave you wanting more. From the character development, to the scenery, Shigatsu wa kimi no Uso is probably one of the best anime of it's time. I strongly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a beautiful Slice of Life style anime and hope that it brings as much happiness and tears to you as it has for me.
Enjoy!
COMMENTS FOR GOLDEN TIME
Golden Time and Sakurasou bot fit nicely into the field of a slice of life romantic comedy. I greatly enjoyed both shows and picked up Golden Time right after finishing Sakurasou. They're really similar in the sense that both anime have a male protagonist going through school with a new-found group of friends. Their relationships as friends grow as well as a few intimate relationships that begin to emerge. Both anime also have sort of a long lasting plot story that crops up here and there as the series go on. I loved the endings to both and have to say the cute romance aspects of both series were fantastic :) If you like the silly kind of way the Sakurasou group acted together you'll be quite pleased with Golden Time. NOTE: Golden Time does get a bit more serious at parts.
COMMENTS FOR SAEKANO: HOW TO RAISE A BORING GIRLFRIEND
Both these anime seem to be based around a boy who has a dream for doing something more in his life. This main also meets certain characters who have similar aspirations and even though Eriri has a more Tsundere character compared to Mashiro who has a more conserved look at her manga drawing, both this character share similar aspirations. The story is quite similar in the sense it is about the characters developing their ideas and such but there is certainly a bit more drama in Sakurasou. But even so both these series are worth checking out if you have seen one of them.
COMMENTS FOR LOVE, CHUNIBYO & OTHER DELUSIONS!
Tbh, I find these two series quite alike.
Both series involves a main protagonist who has to deal with a strange girl. They feel reluctant to get along with them but comes to appreciate them more.
Both series' main female protagonist seems to lack common sense.
Both series has a lot of comedy, drama, and also inklings of romance.
Both series' cast of characters have strange personalities that makes the show entertaining.
COMMENTS FOR NO-RIN
No-Rin is like Sakurasou in an agricultural setting. The characters are extremely similar too.
They're romantic comedies whose main characters live together in the same house. Sakurasou's Sorata and No-Rin's Kousaku are the protagonists, and look like each other. Jin and Kei, who also look the same, are the protagonist's male friend. Mashiro and Ringo are the quiet, reserved main female lead who moved in with the other characters after leaving their highly successful careers as a painter and idol, respectively. Rounding up the main cast are the female childhood friends/love interests Aoyama and Minori. They've all got similar personalities; the resemblance between Mashiro and Ringo is remarkable.
The pesky girl in one anime is highly talented, but an airhead while the girl in the other anime is domineering and a manipulative.
COMMENTS FOR RELIFE
Central theme/focus of both anime is normal people going through normal life dealing with normal people problems. They are both extremely realistic in their depiction of high school students, to the point that it may frustrate some viewers. Frequently, characters will face set backs or problems, they won't know how to fix it, and will make it even worse for themselves. Often, problems will not be solved in one or two episodes, and some underlying tensions can linger or build up for over half a season. These issues are never dismissed, and always explored fully, meaning that not every solution will be successful, and no problem they face ever just goes away. These are real people problems, and the characters have to confront them completely and fix it for themselves.
Another theme both share is learning to live and deal with friends who are exceptionally talented and successful, while they themselves face the failures and inadequacies that regular people have. Characters from both series have to confront their own feelings of jealousy, inferiority, and worthlessness in order to grow as young adults and strengthen their bonds of friendship.
The main difference between the two shows is perspective. Sakurasou's main protagonist a normal teen surrounded by extraordinary people. It it shown directly from the perspective of someone who has to deal with his own shortcomings and inabilities, while living in a place full of geniuses. ReLife's main protagonist is physically 17, but mentally 27 years old. He is a character who has 10 more years of life experience than everyone else around him. ReLife's story revolves around the naivety and feelings of everyone around him. Thus it is told from the perspective of someone who is not only indirectly involved, but also detached emotionally. Thus, Relife's main character is able to navigate through these issues calmly and rationally, while serving as a guiding/senior figure to all his classmates.
As a result of the different perspectives, Sakurasou is probably more painful or hard to watch at times than ReLife. In Sakurasou, the emotional pain is dealt directly to the main character, and we watch directly as he implodes. In ReLife, this detachment allows the viewer to have a more sage perspective like the main character. Thus, the issues the other characters deal with feel less serious, more juvenile, and ultimately quite ridiculous.
And in reality, both anime are about teens in high school. When you are the student, high school means everything. Every decision is as important as your life. But after walking away from it for a while, one comes to the realization that most of the things that happened back then were pretty silly and completely irrelevant to real life.
COMMENTS FOR HYOUKA
Hyouka and Sakurasou have very little to compare regarding their cast and their plot. Both are great in production quality and execution. However, their biggest similarity is that both tackle the thematic element of the "genius". Both series question how unfair it is for people to simply be more talented. Certain characters, like Satoshi from Hyouka and Sorata from Sakurasou, become frustrated with their talents compared to geniuses like Houtarou and Mashiro, who seem to accomplish things as if it were second nature to them.
Both also show the flipside of the coin and talk about how even geniuses are nowhere near perfect. For example, Mashiro works tirelessly to achieve her goals and never learns to take care of herself. And Houtarou makes incorrect conclusions if he doesn't get the whole picture. Both characters have to rely on the support of the rest of the cast to continue producing results.
COMMENTS FOR MY LITTLE MONSTER
Both series takes place at a school life setting with a lighthearted mood. The main female protagonist in both series are also talented but has a strange personality with the main male protagonist.
Both series' main female protagonist are also considered child prodigies but lacks common social skills. It is thanks to the main male protagonist that they discover more about the world.
Both series also has a love triangle as well as other intertwined arcs.
Both series contains comedy, drama, and romance.
