COMMENTS FOR WELCOME TO THE N.H.K.
Anyone that loves welcome to the NHK would certainly love this show.
Welcome to the nhk being my favorite show, yesterday wo uttate is basically a modern and more "calm" and "less intense" as the NHK.
I myself have been trying to find a show similiar to the level of welcome to the NHK and this show is on the right track
Both are settings of a single male, after college, without much going for them and focus on their love interests.
Neither of the main male characters have much drive or desire to get much out of life.
Both series have unrequited love.
Either main character could be characterized as depressed or troubled in some way.
Both face serious life issues about young adults and their struggle to find meaning, love and career choices.
(Opinion) I personally think they have similar tones and art styles to them.

COMMENTS FOR AFTER THE RAIN
Yesterday and After the rain show a different perspective of the same topic: love with an age difference. After the rain has a lighter and more innocent perspective, while Yesterday is a bit more serious

COMMENTS FOR JUST BECAUSE!
Similar triangle love story around MC (not including additional ship), similar character personality, same serious (and rather gloomy) atmosphere with occasional humor
just because is far better regardless whose couple you ship because the execution is that good, better character and more enjoyable episodes too

COMMENTS FOR MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION
Both shares same premise , Rei and Rikuo (main protagonist from each title) basically have same personality, with Rei more shy. Both have slow pacing
Thus is my first recommendation, I'm not native English speaker. I never speak other languages than my mother tongue. But I want to study more

COMMENTS FOR HONEY AND CLOVER
If you like Sing Yesterday for Me, then Hachimitsu to Clover is just a chiller, better developed version with some character roles reversed. However, each show has its own unique characteristics but I found Hachimitsu to Clover to be much more tolerable to watch.

COMMENTS FOR TRUE TEARS
Very similar character dynamics and atmosphere.
Both main male characters are dense.
Both have an eccentric, cute female character.
I won't sugarcoat it. If you like shows with heavy drama, love triangles and can have the patience to see it through until the end then you should.

COMMENTS FOR TSUKIGAKIREI
These are both stories about the realities of love. One is about the hardships that come with adulting and dating, while the other one deals with young lovers being able to express themselves and learn to deal with what life may throw at them.
These are both stories about the difficulties of dating during someones life

COMMENTS FOR DOMESTIC GIRLFRIEND
*The review is mostly on Yestersay wo Utatte. Domestic no Kanojo is just spicy hentai disguised as melodrama with the greatest anime opening of all time and underrated songs in the series*
These animes are similar because of the characters Shinako Morimone and Natsuo Fuji. They constantly put out neverending fires that burn passionately. Its hard to keep everyone happy. For Shinako, she constantly battles to satisfy everyone and asking people not to worry about how she feels because they dont want them to bear the responsibility of her feelings and feel bad about it. She also struggles to move on as she drowns herself in the past of her ex-crush. Well yesterday wo utatte is all about the characters constantly indulging themselves in the past and how they overcome with it, or choose to endure it even longer. Freaking great. Both animes are hreat but Yesterday wo Utatte is even greater. Recommend you read the manga tho bcos while the anime is superb and excellent, its still very rushed compared to the manga as theres a lot of plot missed out.

COMMENTS FOR MY TEEN ROMANTIC COMEDY SNAFU
Romances that are not particularly romantic, but are nonetheless very entertaining. Oregairu is more comedic/parodic; Yesterday is more dramatic/straightlaced. Main characters are generally immature, broken, or borderline toxic personalities who are nonetheless immediately and completely relatable and usually sympathetic. Both shows do a good job of portraying the complication of real-life emotions and insecurities interestingly and convincingly. Both shows create emotional payoff for the viewer by having the characters straighten out their own emotions and then act on them - even when those emotional actions wind up creating conflict or don't actually solve the root problem of the situation or character.

COMMENTS FOR CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~
Both of them are rare works in this medium by emphasising the lives, daily rhythms and experiences of twenty-somethings' lives. Both are uniquely mature romances, revolving around believable portrayals of adults in relationships. Both are centred around work, going into (and deep struggles adjusting to) the world of work. Both are about finding purpose in life, and both find their answers in work, love and family. Both are in part driven by an emotional core of grief, serving as two of the most powerful explorations of mortality in the medium.
Both take place in a world speeding through our protagonist's fingers, with both Rikuo and Tomoya, to varying degrees and in varying means, struggling to process deep change in their life and the world around them, redefining their place in it, and sinking into memories of 'yesterday'. Likewise, both protagonists are similarly flawed people with baggage from their past - their actions aren't perfect, they make sometimes awful mistakes which the storyline forces them to regret deeply. At times both portray uncomfortably intimate struggles with mental health.
Despite Clannad After Story's more fantastical setting/magical storytelling, its visual novel origins and its more lighthearted sections, tonally, thematically and in the thoughts and situations they like to present Yesterday and Clannad After Story are remarkably similar.
COMMENTS FOR RELIFE
Both male protagonists look very similar and begin stuck at a deadend part-time job. Both series also focus on their relationships with the people around them. I got really similar vibes to ReLife in this first episode of Yesterday wo Utatte.
COMMENTS FOR BEASTARS
The Main Character voiced by Kobayashi Chikahiro is a socially awkward guy and has a small girl named Haru as a love interest.
COMMENTS FOR
- Both anime have a bittersweet atmosthere at some point Good camera aesthetics.
- The MC iin YwU is and young adult without motivation while the MC in FLCL is a teenager who tries to act mature.
- There are girls who represent the past and the future (YwU) and childhood and adulthood (FLCL). Both have two girls who represent each of the phases and how their way of life affect the MC.
- While YwU is more melodramatic and conscious, FLCL is more avant-garde and deep.

COMMENTS FOR HITSUJI NO UTA
If you want more from mangaka Kei Toume, your options are unfortunately limited, and Sing Yesterday fans may may need to settle for the Lament of the Lamb OVA. Clearly made on a shoestring budget, Hitsuji no Uta is objectively the weaker of the two series; however, both titles explore uniquely troubled characters, with Toume's traditional art background seeping into the narrative.
On the plus side, the few Hitsuji no Uta fans like myself finally have a decent Kei Toume adaptation to look forward to in Sing Yesterday for Me, which sensitively captures the original's mature and complex relationships.

COMMENTS FOR BOYS BE...
They share some commonalities where the characters not only explore love interests and sort out their own feelings for other characters, but also thoughtfully trying to find their own footing in life and dealing with it's challenges.
