Free! and Tsurune have the same sort of atmosphere. Both tell of 5 guys working together to learn and improve at a sport (swimming in Free! and archery in Tsurune). The animation is well done and very similar style from KyoAni. They both have a high emphasis on friendship. If you enjoyed getting a glimpse of what goes into a sport, and how people can bond together from one of these shows, you will have a very similar feeling watching the other.

COMMENTS FOR RUN WITH THE WIND
Both are showcasing high school boys who do a specific sport (running and Japanese archery) and their struggles to form bonds with their teammates. They both have young coaches and teammates who have injured themselves previously. Some of the characters are similar too. Both animes are warm-hearted and slower paced than your usual sports anime, with no "extra special techniques" with fancy names and colorful moves.

COMMENTS FOR YOUR LIE IN APRIL
Upon watching the first episode of Tsurune, I would say that both the MCs from Shigatsu and Tsurune have a past that has barred them from excelling at their respective "sport". Especially, both MCs are excellent at their arts, but are unable to recover from a tragedy until they have received the support of friendship.

COMMENTS FOR KONO OTO TOMARE!: SOUNDS OF LIFE
both are school club anime centering around very traditional japanese sports/music as one is centered around Kyudo (a traditional archery sport) and Koto a traditional musical instrument. Both are mix gender clubs although no romance in Tsurune as its story is center around the MC target panic and will to continue practice the sport. both clubs are struggle in Kono the clubs almost disbanded due to lack of interest until a MC (it an ensemble type anime with two to four main character 2 boys and 2 girl) joins with some friend that never play the instrument in their lives and face opposition from member read more
COMMENTS FOR HANEBADO!
Similar in Hanebado!, both MCs decide not to play their respective sport after a traumatic event. However, they come back to playing their sport after their friends and other supporting members help them recover/motivate them back to their original dreams. Both MCs are also good at their sports prior.

COMMENTS FOR CHIHAYAFURU
They have a great balance of believable characterization and enthralling sports scenes. Themes in both of these shows include finding one's passion, being on a team, overcoming obstacles and following one's dreams.

COMMENTS FOR SOUND! EUPHONIUM
Both are about a group of students in school clubs, one for archery and one for concert band. They give off similar vibes, similar art style (obviously: KyoAni), and both have similar group dynamics. The story of Tsurune focuses more on a single person trying to overcome his weakness, whereas Euphonium tends to focus on several (but does still focus on the lead quite a bit). They are very human stories that are relatable and enjoyable to watch.
COMMENTS FOR BATTERY
Both are slow paced sports anime with a focus on friendship, struggling to bond with teammates and realizing why one does the sport he chose as a little kid. The best friend pair of the main characters and how their friendship works is similar too.

COMMENTS FOR STARS ALIGN
Both are school sport club anime one centering around an archery club Kyudo and the other soft tennis. both have MCs that are struggle in Sora it family and financial will in Tsurune in the ability and will to even join the club. both have good supporting characters although Sora cover more of it secondary characters. both have clubs struggle in Tsurune the school is just forming or reforming the club and in Sora the club is facing disbandment over lack of performance due to budget limitations
Difference Sora the club activate is in a lot of ways secondary to the characters main and secondary family lives it seem that almost every character as some problem including one that gay or non-binary although it only come up three or four times but if that a turn off maybe it no the anime for you.
in Tsurune although there is some family/personal drama from the main and some secondary character it mostly center around Kyudo the MC target panic, personality conflict, and general club stuff so if you like the ensemble cast of Sora this may not be the anime for you.

COMMENTS FOR VIOLET EVERGARDEN
Both have excellent animation. They are dissimilar in plots, as Tsurune is a spots anime about Japanese Archery, and Violet Evergarden is, well, Violet Evergarden. But they are similar in the way that they are very calming to watch in certain episodes and make your heart pound in others. Both of their main characters and support characters have deep backstories that make their characters all the more richer. It's very beautiful.
COMMENTS FOR TSURITAMA
Both are anime with themes of dealing with your inner turmoil. Main characters have different, but similar problems (one has social anxiety, the other has target panic) that are well-explored and of consequence to their respective stories. Both mains learn to rely on others and form a tight relationship and friendship with others through some kind of activity (archery and fishing). There's also a strong parallel in the personalities of both anime's main cast. Both anime are are very feel-good and are excellent in building up emotional highs.
COMMENTS FOR ALL OUT!!
Both animes contain leading characters who return to practice the sport they love after difficult times. They have the help of colleagues with different personalities, so they will have to figure out how to work as a team to succeed.

COMMENTS FOR MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION
Both protagonists are some sort of prodigies in their sport. Rei achieves onset success in shogi obtaining professional status in middle school; Minato has great potential as an archer who creates a resounding tsurune (sound of the string during release). They both experience traumatic events that have affected their performance and self-confidence, so their stories unfold the regaining of confidence, trust, and love for their field. Character growth is shown through their willingness to open up to people and make friends whether it’s trying to come out of one’s shell (Rei) or relying on others to overcome performance anxiety (Minato). The main differences are read more
COMMENTS FOR HAIKYU!!
- Both take place in a school environment
- Both have characters that received some sort of loss prior to reaching high school
- Both are about sports Kyudo and volleyball respectively
- Both are about being the underdog in a sports competition
To me both anime kind of feel the same beyond what I already mentioned. The coaches are likeable characters that are present in the character's lives prior to becoming the coach. The characters are driven to succeed within a team environment.
Both anime's share the genres: sports, school, and drama. Some differences are that Haikyuu!! is also shounen and comedy.
Kageyama and Onogi are both voiced by Ishikawa, Kaito.

COMMENTS FOR THE GREAT PASSAGE
These two shows are not very thematically similar. However, they are understated and sadly underrated/underappreciated, with thoughtful and sensitive characters, relaxing settings/tones, and topics that the audience may not otherwise know much about or be interested in. They may not be the most exciting shows, but they present believable and heartwarming stories that can provide a break from the stresses in life.
