COMMENTS FOR THE ANCIENT MAGUS' BRIDE
Another fantasy series with BDE (big dad energy). I really felt the similarities where the unfeeling father figure would touch their chest and ask the human to explain the feelings they are currently feeling.

COMMENTS FOR UCHI NO KO NO TAME NARABA, ORE WA MOSHIKASHITARA MAOU MO TAOSERU KAMO SHIRENAI.
The setting in both series is similar: a male protagonist finds a little child and starts to take care of her. Both are very heartwarming and follow the adventures of the "dad and child". In both their bond looks strong and in "Uchi no Ko no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai" it´s very nice to watch their bond to get deeper and see the loving environment around them.

In both Hinamatsuri and Somali to Mori no Kamisama there is a young female character who finds an older male protagonist character and they start to live along. In Hinamatsuri their relationship starts to build slowly and is a bit grumpy at the start. Otherwise in Somali to Mori no Kamisama their relationship starts kindly and seems to be strong even tho the main protagonist has struggles with understanding feelings.

COMMENTS FOR MAQUIA: WHEN THE PROMISED FLOWER BLOOMS
An ancient being for the human child. Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Somali and the Forest Spirit both follow ancient non-human beings becoming the guardian for a child.
Promised Flower's Maquia is an Iorph who can live a long lifespan. Forest Spirit's Golem is an emotionless superpowered golem. Also, both worlds reign over one particular species wishing from something off of them.
Both are good anime with Promised Flower being a great visual work and drama. Forest Spirit is a wonderful adventure.

he outlier in the family. Wolf Children and Somali and the Forest Spirit both follow guardians/parents taking care of the oddity in the world they situate in.
Forest Spirit being about Golem caring for one of the outlied race of humans, Somali. Wolf Children is about Hana raising the literal wolf children Ame and Yuki. Both are also single parents/guardians.
Both are great fantasy-drama anime about the parental guidance one can give to the stranger beings that lurk within society.

COMMENTS FOR KINO'S JOURNEY -THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD- THE ANIMATED SERIES
Kinos journey is more about a young girl and her motorcycle buddy traveling from city to city in order to understand the world more clear. Somali is about a young girl traveling with a golem who she calls her father. The golem travels from places to places in order to find humans and return the girl back to her parents. Throughout both series, they both carry relaxing vibe, beautiful scenery, heartwarming and heartwrenching themes. They meet many different people in their journeys and make great connections, then move on to the next city leaving a bittersweet ending each time. If you like one, you'll like the other.
Kino has the same personality as the golem where they both are monotone, believe that they both lack emotions but you can tell from their actions that they do have feelings.
Definitely an anime worth trying out
COMMENTS FOR DORORO

Both have the chill and relax vibe
Both have very pretty and therapeutic visuals
Both are about a journey and exploration; Sora Yori explores the real world as tourists, while Somali explores its own version of Wonderland

COMMENTS FOR PLASTIC MEMORIES
Time is of the essence. Forever doesn’t really means forever and everything is bound to end. Even though forever may just mean a lifetime, relationships and the experiences are carried by people moving forward as long as they live. Even though we are not permanent beings on this Earth, we should live and enjoy every second of our lives with the people we love and knowing new people and learning their stories. Life is a journey that is worthwhile. There’s a start, lots of twists and turns, and finally an ending.
This may sound too sentimental lol but please do watch Plastic Memories after watching Somali and the Forest Spirit or vice versa. You’ll probably get the similar kind of feels when you watch these two. The whole concept and story are hugely different, however, take the time to give these shows a watch and see for yourself if this recommendation hits the spot.

Both series:
- are set in a fantasy world, where one character (who is a child) needs to be protected by an older guardian.
- have a distinctive lack of black and white narrative creates very thought provoking but touching scenes.
- Seirei ni Moribito is fuller on action, while Somali to Mori (abr.) has calmer more adventure-like atmosphere.

COMMENTS FOR HAKUMEI AND MIKOCHI
If the worldbuilding of either show really drew you in, fans of Somali or Hakumei & Mikochi can find something to love in the other series. Hakumei & Mikochi is more slow-paced and feel-good, while Somali and the Forest Spirit can have some intense moments that border on action or even horror, but both shows have foudn families living in a fantastical world. With Hakumei & Mikochi, it's the story of two friends and with Somali and the Forest Spirit, it's the story of a father and daughter.
