COMMENTS FOR ARIFURETA: FROM COMMONPLACE TO WORLD'S STRONGEST
Both male protagonist faces a situation where they were back-stabbed by people they thought were allies. After facing the horrific consequences of being back-stabbed, the male protagonist sets out on a solo journey and meets female side-kicks, basically kick starting a harem. Both stories revolve around hero being summoned by magic, using magic and fighting demons who are threatening humanity.
both are isekai, with overpowered MC that gain demi-human harem the biggest common thread between the two anime is the MC being betrayed early on and their attitude in dealing with their new world and both have the goal of getting home. both have game mechanic. their are some differences between the two but without going into spoiler territory.
one thing to note Arifureta has cgi monsters that some find of poor quality and they are far different than the background, MC and other humans

COMMENTS FOR RE:ZERO -STARTING LIFE IN ANOTHER WORLD-
They are both isekais with good for nothing main characters that goes through conflict after conflict after conflict after.... in order to get things done.
in both of these anime series the MC suddenly gets transported to another world, both mcs are considering themselves useless in the real world and when they get another chance in different worlds they decide to change into a powerful, respectful person.
subaru and Naofumi are similar in many ways but...subaru has a more cheerful character and Naofumi is more serious and self preserved.
both MCs are surrounded by cute girls and allies and enemies who they need to defeat and deal with.
both of them are highly recommended to watch for those who like these kinds of stories :)

COMMENTS FOR THAT TIME I GOT REINCARNATED AS A SLIME
Both are stand out shows in their seasons for being Isekai's that both play with the viewer expectation in a simple way. Changing the status quo in small ways that aren't particularly mind-blowing, but effective and utilized to each of their strengths

COMMENTS FOR BOFURI: I DON'T WANT TO GET HURT, SO I'LL MAX OUT MY DEFENSE.
Set in MMORPG/MMORPG-like world, the main character specializes in shield class with abilities specialized for defense. They keep gaining new skills by fighting and fullfiling hidden requirements. Just be warned that one is moe and the other one is angst.

COMMENTS FOR SWORD ART ONLINE
Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) is an Isekai just like Sword Art Online but it has different aspects that will make it feel new and exciting, great animation, story and characters. Instead of an overpowered protagonist (Kirito) we have Naofumi a weak protagonist which uses hard work to become strong even when the whole world has turned their back on him. The heroines of the series are also very good with individual traits and relationships woth the mc. This show in my opinion is a better Isekai than Sword Art Online and after seeing SAO I reccomend it.

COMMENTS FOR GRIMGAR: ASHES AND ILLUSIONS
Both are your regular "guy gets transported from modern world into RPG-like world" except they have this gimmick where instead of being op right from the start they start from the bottom as one of the weakests. Of course, they get their super abilities (not so much) later anyway. Grimgar protagonist still stays relatively weak though, in a good way.
COMMENTS FOR OVERLORD
They are both iconic game isekais with a well defined atmosphere where the main character is pretty much overpowered and takes part into the conflicts of the game world.

COMMENTS FOR ROKKA: BRAVES OF THE SIX FLOWERS
Both shows feature protagonists who although are meant to be viewed as heroes, are falsely accused of crimes they did not commit. They also have similarities with the supporting characters with some doubting the claims while others delusionally believe in them

COMMENTS FOR SPICE AND WOLF
Both are from the fantasy genre portraying the historic medieval era, focused on a human and a demi-human traveling, dealing with buying and selling, economy, profit and relationship growth. There are also similarities between demi-humans experiencing suffering in relation to being lonely and the rejection of people in their world.
Differences
S&W main focus: travel dealing with business in a historical world more like reality
Shield Hero main focus: Isekai with rpg structure in historical world with kingdoms, rpg adventure, fighting monsters, raising levels, magic and etc.

COMMENTS FOR ABSOLUTE DUO
Both male MCs have the shield as a weapon, which make their way of fighting somewhat unique. They have a lot of females around them (harem). MCs want power to protect what they hold dear even if it means losing their humanity and becoming something even more.

COMMENTS FOR KONOSUBA: GOD'S BLESSING ON THIS WONDERFUL WORLD!
If you enjoy fantasy genre anime with a well structured hero's journey, then you will most likely love both of these shows. Both follow a protagonist who was an outsider in our world, and after an unfortunate series of events, has ended up inside a fantasy world which they must save. Both of these shows absolutely engrossed me with their fantastic world building and relatable main characters.

COMMENTS FOR CAUTIOUS HERO: THE HERO IS OVERPOWERED BUT OVERLY CAUTIOUS
Both feature a male hero protagonist who level up and fight monsters in the process. Cautious hero is more of a comedy, where Seiya is overpowered yet naive, whereas Shield Hero has more serious tones as Naofumi is looked down on and works his way up the ranks. The both are hard to open up to. Both of these anime feature the protagonist being transported into a new world (isekai)

COMMENTS FOR DEATH MARCH TO THE PARALLEL WORLD RHAPSODY
Isekai medieval fantasies, that focus a lot more on the actual RPG elements (HP, MP, Skills, etc...) rather than casually ignoring them. Both also feature harems forming due to the MC's heroic efforts

COMMENTS FOR MYSTERIOUS PLAY
Both start with the main characters being drawn into a book and ending up in another world in which they need to fulfill some kind of prophecy while not being the only one from another world. Main characters need to find companions on their journey. While it's about four different heroes in Rising of the Shield Hero, it's about four different nations with a priestress each in Fushigi Yuugi (although only two of them get some real meaning during the main series). Both series include lots of intrigues against the main characters.

COMMENTS FOR MY TEEN ROMANTIC COMEDY SNAFU
MCs from both series are filled with resentment and hatred as a result of them being ostracised. They are rude and unapproachable young men who have their own way of doing things and seeing the world around them. And yet, they are both dependable and (deep inside) kind, so they help people around them.
