COMMENTS FOR CHIHAYAFURU
Because of the similar premise and overall feeling/execution, of its plot and characters.
The stories of Chihayafuru and Kono Oto feature a group of high school students involved in a competitive club, trying to master their skill set well enough to compete in the nationals, for their respective activity/sport. Both shows are primarily school-life oriented, with a familiar balance of comedy, drama, and character development.
One of the more striking resemblances between the shows is the characters. Each character, in these stories, has their own distinct personality, as well as unique backgrounds, goals, and motivations. Having the characters be not only likable, but also feel diverse in personality, makes them interesting and fun to watch.
Some other similarities include art style, episode/plot structure, production values, mood, how the characters interact, and more; making both shows feel very similar to one another.

COMMENTS FOR YOUR LIE IN APRIL
Both try to bring meaning and heart to music. The two series mixes but humor and dark themes to bring forth something beautiful. In my opinion, Kono Oto Tomare! accomplishes this task a little better then Your Lie in April. However, I feel that both deserve a watch especially if you enjoy musical themed anime.

COMMENTS FOR SOUND! EUPHONIUM
Both shows demonstrate how music clubs, especially ones that compete, can provide people with a sense of belonging, purpose, and passion. At the same time, they show the different ways people can respond to disappointment and failure, such as dejection or inspiration. Because both of these shows capture the experiences of being in a band, competing and performing, both of these shows can be relatable to anyone in school bands and nostalgic for former school band members. Also Satowa Houzuki reminds me of Reina Kousaka because of their initially cold yet capable demeanor, and Suzuka Takinami reminds me of Noboru Taki because of their initial harshness and cynicism as advisors of the music clubs.

COMMENTS FOR TSURUNE: KAZEMAI KOUKOU KYUUDOUBU
Both shows feature clubs centered on a traditional Japanese art that non-Japanese viewers may not have heard of. They also have believable characters that make you want to root for them. Also, Kudou from Kono Oto Tomare! reminds me of Onogi from Tsurune.

COMMENTS FOR CAROLE & TUESDAY
Both anime feature characters who are trying to prove themselves and overcome their trials and tribulations. While one is set in a futuristic sci-fi setting and the other is in a current day Japan school life, music is what really ties them together. You will watch full and soothing performances (plus some EDM inspired music in Carole & Tuesday) with acoustic instruments (koto and guitar/piano) in both anime which can also be incredibly inspiring. Overall, both shows are very wholesome.

COMMENTS FOR MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION
Music and a Game are two diferent things, but they also are a hobbie where one must have an iniciation at one point in life. So you will see how much they resemble each other having people with diferent backgrouds learning.
They share an unusual tradicional japanese art form for modern high schoolers to learn.
Both show characters believable and relatable backstories drama through their interactions and learning experiences.
The best resemblence is that both have a main character who in the past were excluded from interacting with people the same age group and while being a expert/much experienced in their art then others, is trying to fit in with other people.

COMMENTS FOR MAID SAMA!
Male and Female main characters, and 3 friends from Kono Oto Tomare are reminiscent of the ones from Kaichou wa Maid-sama.
The overall mood and feel are also very similar, especially regarding comedy / romance.
Watching Kono Oto Tomare feels like watching Kaichou wa Maid-sama all over again.
(Of course, each anime has lots of great stuff aside from the comedy / romance!)
COMMENTS FOR K-ON!
both music clubs that get you emotionally invested without being too serious
k on is more cutesy and relaxed whereas kono oto tomare is more grown up with romance and a need for every character to have a tragic backstory
both have great sounds

COMMENTS FOR MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION 2ND SEASON
The way both series present their characters' emotional experiences is very similar to me. The second season of 3-gatsu no Lion especially reminds me of Kono Oto Tomare! because of the bullying arc. Both series portray people's needs to be accepted into a group, the pain they feel from rejection and alienation because of a talent they have (in the case of Rei Kiriyama and Satowa Houzuki) and the tendency of hurt people to hurt people (in the case of Megumi Takagi and Hiro Kurusu). Overall, the theme of people's need for connecting to one another is very prevalent in both shows.

COMMENTS FOR NODAME CANTABILE
A music anime with wonderful characters and great comedy to boot. However, Nodame Cantabile makes music more central to the story, and the characters are college-aged and, therefore, provide a nice change of pace from high school anime without going too drastic.
COMMENTS FOR HAIKYU!!
They both revolve around teamwork and competitions where only one team can win, and make an effort to make the reader like the opponents creating a bit of a moral dilemma where you want both sides to win(Though Haikyuu does it better).
