COMMENTS FOR NO. 6
definitely No.6 and Banana Fish fall under the same ... "vibe" ?
Aura ?
both have realistic gloomy worlds that you end up being grateful that you aren't living in one or the like, and praying for the well being of those stuck in such toxic environments
both have relationships between the protagonists that makes you jealous and looking for your own "soulmate" irl. Cause FIGHT ME over this if you want! but I don't think there was ever a couple/partners more in love with each other than in those two shows!
to the point where I find myself finding it difficult to call them "lovers" or "boyfriends" cause these two term don't come close, and instead seem to cheapen the value they hold for each other,
granted they are also young, and each has their own background and baggage and priorities to sort through, therefore it's not like its a "happily ever after" Disney ending
but for what it's worth, they are thankful and grateful for the time they had with their SO
Banana Fish may be a level above No.6 in terms of how hard it is to watch
doesn't make No.6 a vanilla show, but at least you know where it stands in terms of heartbreaking the viewer
Pure friendship between men is difficult to understand. But You're able to do it after know the point just once.
No.6 author influenced by Banana Fish. For that reason, Both two characters relationship and position are same.
Ash is similar to Nezumi. Eiji is similar to Shion. They really take care of them. Just like brothers.
Banana Fish is more emphasized. Ash's heart itself is Eiji. Without Eiji, Ash can't alive. That's how much he loves Eiji.
In the same way as this show, No.6 also have humanly characters. Shion likes Nezumi. Nezumi likes Shion.
Love and Like are a little different. Probably Both author clarify what them. Truly splendid.
Apart from that, both have a lot of similar elements. Story, style, art. Much more. No.6 is Sci-Fi version of Banana Fish.
Both include unforeseen events. Probably you'll surprise them in every episode. Heartbreaking.
No.6 has so many flaws in story though, Banana Fish is basically stable and better quality.
If you're a No.6 fan, general anime fan, or unique anime fan, Banana Fish definitely must watch.
COMMENTS FOR 91 DAYS
Both anime have mafia, gangs, lots of action and fights. Main characters of the show go through a rough childhood that later on has a big impact in their life and choices. Main protagonist is smart and tends to do everything to get what he wants.
COMMENTS FOR GIVEN
Both about boys (Given is much more direct with their relationships)
both have darker tones, not nearly as much as Banana Fish but still does
both will leave you feeling emotional
COMMENTS FOR BACCANO!
Both of them take place in America and revolve around mafia families and gunfights. Even though Baccano takes a more supernatural approach, they both give off similar mafia vibes. If you enjoyed watching Banana Fish, you should definitely check out Baccano as well.
COMMENTS FOR MONSTER
Though it seems like an odd comparison, both are extremely dark, engage heavily in mystery elements and feel like psychological thrillers. Both have some similar thematic morally grey content and feature characters with dark pasts tied to politically-charged conspiracies tetering on the edge of, or jumping over the edge to, insanity, though incorporates these elements in radically different ways.
Monster is a lot more atmospheric and slower paced, Banana Fish is much more character and relationship-driven and fast-paced. Both are among my favorites, however, for similar thematic reasons.

COMMENTS FOR BUNGO STRAY DOGS
Banana Fish is definitely darker, but I would say they're pretty similar in terms of their pacing of drama and mystery, as well as their rivalry with mafia gangs. Both can get pretty dark and emotional, but there's still humour and great soundtrack. Loved the way the characters in both shows are built up over time as well.
COMMENTS FOR GANGSTA.
Both anime have lots of action, fights, shooting and killing, gangs, mafia, drugs and sexual abuse. Main protagonists had a rough childhood, but now as grown up's they're pretty smart and good at fighting.

COMMENTS FOR THE CASE FILES OF JEWELER RICHARD
Both have male leads who have a friendship that runs deep and would almost make some believe that they are lovers. Both have a work together and lean on one another through the odds are faced even when they aren't being honest. Both have drama related to the past and things that need to be dealt with for the sake of their future lives.
COMMENTS FOR ANTIDOTE
Both are about a gangster's relationship with another boy and the ways in which they help each other.
COMMENTS FOR PET
So both of these anime are gonna be aimed towards the female audience more than men. It is very focused on relationships between men that transcend romance and fall under a partnership/soulmates title and are about our main characters trying to escape an evil organization. Both shows are very serious and a bit trippy but overall, the story will come together in the end and make sense. They both have action, mystery and drama involved.

COMMENTS FOR JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: GOLDEN WIND
Banana Fish and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind are both 2018 adaptations of manga franchises that started in the 1980's. The main character in both anime are the child/in custody of the main villain in each series. The main character in both series hates something to do with drugs. Giorno in Golden Wind hates gangsters who sell drugs to children, while Ash hates Banana Fish, the drug that made his brother crazy. In both series the main character is a blond male teenager who wants to kill the boss of the gang and they were both abused as children. Both anime can also sometimes be violent.

COMMENTS FOR COWBOY BEBOP
Can trauma truly be healed? Are there wounds that time cannot cure?
Ultimately, Cowboy Bebop and Banana Fish reach the exact same sad conclusion.
While surface wise choice of the setting and story are different, on a deeper level both anime deal with the similar topic of trauma. Main character of Cowboy Bebop, Spike, and Ash of Banana Fish are traumatized, and each one has to constantly carry the weight of his past.
These are two excellent anime, but no matter how fun it starts in the beginning, - do not kid yourself, - you WILL cry.

COMMENTS FOR PHANTOM: REQUIEM FOR THE PHANTOM
Like an overflowing tears, we live this fleeting moment as if it is shining.
The repetition of meeting and parting in those days, our whole being is torn what should we believe in?
Both are tragedy stories. Yeah, tragedy. Sadness and pain envelop main characters. This is antisocial message.
Ash is similar to Zwei. They have precious person named each Eiji and Ein. They fight for them hardly.
Both have much gunfight and deep drama. It's more than just killing. Atonement and Salvation.
What is human who want to protect? Where are their right place? They keep looking for them. Even the end of hell.
Setting is same. America. Phantom is mutual of America and Japan. Except Ash, main characters are Japanese.
The ratio of characters are different. Phantom is male and female lead. Banana Fish is almost all of male cast.
Voice acting is very nice. Especially Phantom is more refined. Banana Fish is more polite.
It'll too scared to watch both of them in various meaning. But definitely high perfection. I recommend to you.

COMMENTS FOR DEVILMAN: CRYBABY
Though Devilman Crybaby is a more supernatural anime, both show the darker side of humanity, are violent and gory, have 2 main characters who's relationship is a side plot, and both are guaranteed to make you ugly cry at the end.
COMMENTS FOR CANAAN
In terms of context, both have something to do with human experimentation although using different techniques.
The main character of each show (Canaan & Ash) are both overpowered and really good at uh what they do.
The other main characters who form a strong bond with the OP people are Maria who is accompanied by Minoru, just like Eiji who is accompanied by Ibe. All four of them are photographers from Japan going to a foreign country to try to capture something interesting.
Although they have other similarities, what really makes me think of the other anime is the bond that Ash has with Eiji & the bond that Canaan has for Maria. It isn't a physical bond, it is a soul bond, there is so much more meaning behind their connection, it is much more genuine than seeking pleasure out of physical actions. It is unconditional love and it really hits you.
I may be biased since Banana Fish is in my top 10 favorite anime, but I find that Banana Fish was able to capture that bond much better than Canaan and thus, it is more tear-jerking and emotionally hard to watch if you sympathize too much lol. It could also be because Banana fish has 24 episodes rather than only 13, so they were able to pace if better.

Both shows tells the story of the main lead who suffered family issues and seek out by revenge plot with lots of stakes. Expect violence, cruel deaths, gangs, corruptions, assassins and dark organizations themes. Most times plot twists involves by outsmarting opponents.

COMMENTS FOR DEATH NOTE
They want to change something. For grant it, they use any means necessary to it.
See through the future. Everything is gonna be all right. However, it depends on their destiny.
Both have many conspiracy and plot twist. Very intense and tense form. Extremely intellectual.
Atmospheres are quite dark. DN's psychological battle, Banana Fish's action give you strong impact.
Character development also decent. Light and Ash are clever killers. They are similar to behavior and personalities.
But Ash is still good man and realist. Because of he has important people. Light hasn't those existence.
Theme is underworld. Full of dangerous. You need to keep motivation. Otherwise you can't enjoy both of them.
Banana Fish is more mature theme. Of course, DN also mature enough. In other words, Both are surprisingly thrilling.
Awesome OP and ED songs. Art and animation are always high quality. Cool and well done characters. These have in common.
Both are enormously charisma and insane. If you loved DN, you should watch Banana Fish. Interesting.

COMMENTS FOR BLACK LAGOON
Both animes
Pne of the mc in both animes is a japanese innocent and good guy, who goes overseas and gets involved into the world of violence and gangs. Both of them builds a strong connection with a person from that alien to them enviroument, which changes their own reality forever.
In both shows there is good action, animation and both give off a similar feel, though Black Lagoon is more action oriented and consists of mini arcs, while Banana Fish follows one story arc.

COMMENTS FOR SAMURAI FLAMENCO
In genre alone, these animes are not very similar, but if you liked one, you'll probably like the other.
In short, both animes focus on a young attractive male who leads others against evil. In BF it's Ash leading his gang, Shorter, Eiji, Max, and everyone else. In SF it's Masayoshi leading Gotou and his fellow heroes. It should be noted that SF has a much lighter tone and atmosphere to it than BF does, at least until the end.
SF in general is a hard anime for people to watch all of the way through because its genres switch throughout the anime, but the last three or four episodes of the show are what make it such a great story. These last few episodes in particular I think are what connect it to BF so well.
COMMENTS FOR TRIGUN
The "hot guys with guns" genre. Traumatized guy with blonde hair and gorgeous teal eyes experiences nonstop suffering.

COMMENTS FOR HITORIJIME MY HERO
Banana Fish is not a shounen-ai, but Hitorijime My Hero is. They both include gang-society into their plots, but the relationship between the two main characters is in focus. Since Hitorijime My Hero is both a shounen-ai and a lot more "friendly", you get more fluff and cutesy stuff than in Banana Fish.

COMMENTS FOR CODE GEASS: LELOUCH OF THE REBELLION
Code Geass and Banana Fish are in very different genres, but they have some similar themes, and the main characters also share many traits.
-Both Ash and Lelouch are complex characters who will stop short of nothing, even mass murder, in order to do what they think is right and protect those important to them. They both have a dainty appearance that is at odds with their aggressive nature, are distrusful, and are extremely intelligent and calculating.
-The main character has a strong relationship with another guy who has a very different personality and is somewhat naive. Those relationships do play out very differently over time, though.
-Ash and Lelouch are both rebelling and trying to overthrow the person/organization/regime that they originally came from
-Themes of government conspiracy; parts or all of the government and its associates are portrayed as the "bad guy"
-Both shows are often dark and depressing, dealing with some heavy themes. Lots of violence, which even major characters are not safe from. The way that both shows ended (as far as the main characters accomplishing their goals, and how things personally end for the main character himself) seem very similar to me.

COMMENTS FOR SPIRITPACT
The relationships between Ash Lynx and Eiji Okamura is similar to Ki Tanmoku (Duanmu Xi) and Keika You (Jinghua Yang). Ash Lynx and Ki Tanmoku are both leaders/influential people who have a strong, no nonsense persona. When Eiji Okamura and Keika You enter their lives, Ash Lynx and Ki Tanmoku find that they are letting their guard down and trusting the new person.
Side note: The plot of Banana Fish with fighting against "Papa" is more similar to Ling Qi 2 where the characters fight against an organization/powerful person.

COMMENTS FOR AKAME GA KILL!
