COMMENTS FOR NO. 6
pisode 7 of both series convinced me to make a recommendation.
If you're looking for something with a similar story-line or genre, I suggest you skip this one. YOI is sports and slice-of-life, while No.6 is is some kind of dystopian scifi action anime.
However, when I watched YOI, I felt a familiar vibe and at first I couldn't really point what anime this reminded me off, till I scrolled past No.6.
Both series have a heavy focus on the relationship and tension between the main-characters. Imo, No.6 was the only anime I knew, who found it's place between 'gay baiting' and official Shounen Ai, but I have the feeling Nezumi and Shion will have to share their spot with Victor and Yuuri from now on.
The (black-and-white) main characters, have a very really close relationship, with heavily implied romance. Yes. There will always be people who still refuse to see the romance, but it's very hard to ignore the romantic vibes in both relationships.
YOI is still airing, but I am pretty sure Victor and Yuuri will end up together, in some way.
Both series give us some nice character development too. In the beginning the main character (Shion and Yuuri) seems dependent and inferior to the other one (Nezumi and Victor), but as the story continues, both of them, as well as their relationship, starts to develop into a very interesting interaction between the main characters.
If you like non-shounen ai series, that still have romance in their relationships and if you like nicely developed characters, be sure to check the other one out.

Both series are focussed on the athletic development of males with a passion for their chosen sports. They take you on a journey with many obstacles to overcome with help from friends and rivals. Also, let your fangirl mind fill in the blanks left by shounen ai vibes throughout the episodes.

COMMENTS FOR WELCOME TO THE BALLROOM
These two have very similar premises: Competing in a sport in which you are watched and judged based on your performance. Aesthetics, difficulty of moves, etc are all taken into account. They are both fun to watch, and unfortunately both sometimes suffer from too much of the same thing in the performances. Luckily, it's not too much of a hindrance, and if you enjoy one you will probably enjoy the other. Unless you only watched Yuri!! on Ice for the weird teacher x student "romance". You won't find that in Ballroom.

COMMENTS FOR YOUR LIE IN APRIL
A protagonist who wants to quit what he loves doing because of bad mental state, but gets motivated by his lov..I mean, friend, who supports him and helps him climb back on top. Both have artists who create stories with their performance, and there is a lot of inner monologues. Yuri on Ice has less drama than Shigatsu.
COMMENTS FOR GIVEN
Both are cute anime with good animation which include a BL sub-trope although the main focus of the show is an artistic characteristic. None of them fetishize MLM nor are sexual, but they totally have a good development of the characters relationship. The soundtrack in both is amazing and the storyline too.
COMMENTS FOR HAIKYU!!

COMMENTS FOR SKATING RINK KALEIDOSCOPE
In both animes, we have a japanese professional skater who is trying to get into and win competitions on an international level (in YoI we have the Grand Prix Final, in Ginban Kaleidoscope it's the Winter Olympics).
Yuri and Tazusa are one of the best skaters in Japan in their respective shows and are in a slump at the beginning due to failures in their careers, however, it's at that point when a new person unexpectedly enters their lives. Victor in YoI and Pete in Ginban change the main character's view on life quite a lot.
While the characters are nothing alike, the focus of the animes are quite the same: how growing as a person makes the characters grow as figure skaters as well.

COMMENTS FOR SK8 THE INFINITY
With finding joy in each sport hobby, the two main characters in each show find each other and uplift each other to have fun and succeed. The animation for both shows are amazing, and beautiful, capturing the adrenaline and emotion that gets put into each sport. These shows teach you that you don't have to be alone to enjoy something, you might even enjoy something even more when you do it with someone else!

COMMENTS FOR SAMURAI FLAMENCO
Similar situations where a character is inspired to do his best thanks to another character as well as lgbtqia themes that are not sexualized. The characters as well have complex emotions that will stick to you, similar to Yuri's story.

COMMENTS FOR PING PONG THE ANIMATION
The Opening and the Ending reminds so much to Ping Pong each with a very characteristic beautiful animation.
The fact that The protagonist has got an idol and does the same than him
and in some point of the animation he could become better than his hero.

COMMENTS FOR KIDS ON THE SLOPE
Both are exceptionally gripping slice-of-life anime produced by Studio MAPPA. Even though Sakamichi no Apollon concentrates on music and Yuri!!! on Ice focuses on figure skating as a competitive sport, friendship, love and growth are at the core of both stories. The main characters' passion for their work are conveyed very well in both shows. Chances are if you like one of the shows you are going to enjoy the other as well. Please give it a try!

COMMENTS FOR BIG WINDUP!
While the sports themselves couldn't be more different, Oofuri and YoI both feature a protagonist who struggles with anxiety and low self-esteem despite his talent. Their character arcs are about dealing with their anxiety, gaining confidence, and finding support in the people around them. Not only do these shows handle mental illness really well, they also feature healthy, supportive, and positive relationships between the characters - although YoI has overt romance while Oofuri does not.
COMMENTS FOR BARAKAMON
Lighthearted slice of life shows about professionals in their early twenties, at the top of their field but also stuck in a slump/downward spiral; the shows do detail their respective downfalls, but it's more about their redemption, and how they proceed to find inspiration and motivation again through the help of others, learning more about themselves along the way.
Both deal with a pretty serious and anxiety-inducing theme, it's presented in a mature way with minimal melodrama.
Positive and uplifting shows that leave you warm and fuzzy inside.

COMMENTS FOR SHOWA GENROKU RAKUGO SHINJU
Both revolve around artistic professional hobbies that are passionately depicted by the shows' creators. Those hobbies are used to emphasize the characters' emotions and stories. Also, both focus on the relationships between two very different adult men from the point-of-view of the more uptight one, and their relationships are built upon the inspiration that they give each other in their shared field. SGRS is definitely more serious, somber, and stylistic than YoI, but they both actually utilize similar themes and have plots that make heavy use of subtle character details and foreshadowing. A fan of one show may not necessarily like the other (e.g. SGRS isn't portraying a romance between its male leads like YoI, although there are obvious hints and it is written by a mangaka who has done BL before. Meanwhile, YoI may be a bit too zany and dependent on modern technology for people who loved how realistic and historic SGRS was) but I'd still say they are both worth trying out.

COMMENTS FOR REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA
Both anime address themes of queerness in a respectful way. They both stay outside the traditional boundaries of the yaoi/yuri genres.

COMMENTS FOR GAKUEN HEAVEN
Both animes are shounen ai. Kazuki has a pretty boy look like Viktor while Keita & Yuuri are mediocre compared to the people around them. The story & setting of the animes may not be alike but their are several elements that make both animes give off the same vibe. First, both Keita & Kazuki tries to belong in their community (new school/ skating competitors). Their motivation is the one they love and both their love interest are "supreme" in the story (like Viktor being the unbeaten champion). The love between the couple both started as platonic & admiration. In the process, their schoolmates/co-competitors helped the MCS with their problems which allowed strengthened the feeling of the MCs for each other.

COMMENTS FOR HITORIJIME MY HERO
While watching a beautiful shounen-ai anime I'm always reminded of the most amazing anime I've watched, Yuri On Ice is one of those animes. Hitorijime My Hero touched my heart and so did Yuri On Ice.
Both animes are sincere and have earned great respect from me so much that if a character were to cry, I would 100% cry aswell.
Not many animes find their way into my heart because they don't have the emotional explosions that can make you smile or even cry but these two definitely do.
If you wish for something similar or are looking for more of that BL goodness full of love watch Yuri On Ice and hitorijime My Hero!
:)
COMMENTS FOR JOKER
The art style is pretty. The main character is cool. Also, they are comedy

COMMENTS FOR SKATE-LEADING STARS
Both are ice skating anime, and have a similar rivalry (yuri v yuuri and maeshima v shinozaki). Well animated skating sequences. Main difference is that skate leading stars lacks the romance aspect, however if you enjoyed the competitive aspect of yuri on ice you will like skate leading stars.
