7 [Similar Anime] Like Tokyo Ghoul:re

Devil's Line is based off a manga, just like Tokyo Ghoul Re, where the main character struggles to control the impulses and thoughts that come with being who they are. Both series are psychological but Devil's Line is more of a romance while Tokyo Ghoul is more action. Also, both are seinen series so there are some mature themes...

Both anime are police procedurals mixed with horror-action.

It is a bloody anime if you watched attack on titan and if you haven't you are a uncultured swine so this bloody in a way but not the same as attack on titan.

- Same theme, detectives with powers taking on supernatural entities. Tokyo Ghoul Re may very well have taken a few liberties, or perhaps been inspired by several elements in Descendants of Darkness. As well as investigations, there are cursed organ transplants, sexual themed violence, characters experience damage to the genitals, also implications of violation. Both series explore child abuse, and the over the top splat stick gore is present as well.
- Protagonists Asato and Haise are similar in temperament and have interchangeable trials and end options in terms of the choices of who they can become. They share pasts that come back to haunt them and memory loss issues related to the story and other characters in their histories. In TG Re, Haise will eventually end up marrying Touka.
- More character overlap occurs with a crazy doctor - Muraki meet Kanou, Tsuzuki and Uta can take on other people’s faces, for both there’s even a dismembered torso!
- Each makes use of humour even though the setting is supposed to be quite dark.
- Viz Media possibly noticed the similarities as they began republishing D.o.D manga September 2014, and released T.G Re October 2014. T.G Re is like an identical twin that was conceived after D.o.D but delivered around the same time, interesting.

Both sequels, where the main characters, Lelouch and Sasaki, are both in similar situations at the start of both series, where the past comes back to haunt them.

Almost exactly the same, both involves some organisations annihilating dangerous creatures. except Terra Formars is more action focused and has less plot armour, while Tokyo Ghoul:re is better in terms that villains has personalities. Terra Formars will give you more tension because the lack of plot armour and survivability of the characters compared to the "nearly immortal" Tokyo Ghoul characters. Both has the same presentation method of melodrama moments. Even though Tokyo Ghoul:re seems less mature, it is more character focus story.
