COMMENTS FOR SPICE AND WOLF
Beginning with the obvious, both Re:Zero and Steins;Gate were animated by the same studio, White Fox and both main protagonists have time traveling related abilities.
Now for the juicy stuff, both Okabe and Subaru are quite different from the usual anime protagonist and aren't meant to be self-inserts for viewers. They both must overcome obstacles to save the ones they love and both feature thrilling story lines and engaging characters that break the mold of most anime tropes like Tsunderes (with Steins;Gate's Kurisu) and Moé characters (Re:Zero's Rem). The authors want you to see the MCs go through very difficult (and sometimes gory) hardships in order to reach their goals. In a nutshell both are:
- Animated by White Fox
- Time Traveling Related
- Have fresh Non-Self Insert Protagonists
- Mold Breakers of Anime Tropes
and both anime titles have a thing for colons and semi-colons.

COMMENTS FOR KONOSUBA: GOD'S BLESSING ON THIS WONDERFUL WORLD!
Re:Zero and KonoSuba take the same 'NEET transported to a medieval-fantasy' premise and go in differing directions... yet still somehow end up with their respective leads in mental anguish of varying extremes due to harem-related woe.
Re:Zero has its lead die over and over and over and over and over again trying to save the girls he encounters in his new world. KonoSuba also has its lead die from time to time... due to his moronic (yet lovable) band of misfit female party members that make him want to punch himself/them in the face.
One is a drama. The other is a comedy. But both will most likely appeal to one that the likes the other. This is because, via equivalent exchange, they give what the other cannot.
They're very different but they both have the same premise.
A tracksuit wearing gamer protagonist ends up being in a new world, they expect to be an overpowered bad-ass who goes on awesome adventures with his perfect girlfriend and harem but instead, life in the fantasy world is cruel to him. Also, minor spoilers, he dies in the first episode.
Both series also have good comedy (especially KonoSuba, which is heavily focused on comedy). If you enjoy one, you'll likely enjoy the other, both bring out the best of the isekai genre.

Imagine a world where fate demands to be corrected and it is willing to go through an endless binding cycle to achieve that purpose. The curse of time travel being portrayed at its best where the ones involved either witness gruesome deaths or experience it themselves. Happy endings are hard to come by but the future remains uncertain, it is up to the individual to decide the closure they deserve.
‘Boku dake ga Inai Machi’ showcases a game of cat and mouse that has seen it being dragged on for over 10 years in which all the tragedies that unfolded before us are planned by one single entity. The rich storyline that is full of substance accompanied by dark striking character expressions will undeniably leave your heart pumping while trying to anticipate the outcome of one’s action.
‘Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu’ convene its story through multiple layers of secluded mystery where it is not known how each event are related. Unlike ‘Boku dake ga Inai Machi’, this mystery-base story plays right into the show’s strength due to the final villain not being revealed blatantly while their true purpose remains an enigma. Commendation should also be given to the series with the way it prioritises its vision, the romance/harem is certainly noticeable but never overwhelm the true objective which is the storyline. Audience would certainly appreciate the character interactions and comedy which sets a lighter tone away from the frightening events that has all but left us bewitched.

COMMENTS FOR PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA
If you just glance at the images of both, you have no idea what you're going to get out of each anime. They're actually pretty similar because they both have major and unexpected plot twists, both look happy at first glance but aren't, both have very dark themes, and both have supernatural elements.
I think this is a pretty good recommendation because the unexpectedly dark style of the two anime can really get to you emotionally. If you like the dark emotional elements in one you will probably like the other.

-Both protagonists quickly realize that this isn't the fantasy world they dreamed of through betrayal and tragic events
-Both have a large cast of similar female characters
-Both protagonists will 'save' these females in one way or another causing a friendship or in some cases attraction to develop from the female's side

COMMENTS FOR WHEN THEY CRY
Both seem to be cheerful at first glance but hide a darker and deeper plot.
Both use the premise of loops.
Both have elements of mystery.
They don't seem too similar at first glance, with Re:Zero being a action/fantasy with dark themes and Higurashi being a classic horror series in the otaku community, but they are. Both are in time loops, except while in Higurashi Keiichi is unaware of it, Subaru from Re:Zero is. They both deal with dark, sometimes gory themes, included but not limited to; torture, insanity, watching friends die, and more, but it takes more of a forefront in Higurashi, with it being more strictly related to horror. Not enough yandere in Re:Zero though. Shame.

COMMENTS FOR SWORD ART ONLINE
Compared to Sword Art Online, Re: Zero is much darker at times in terms of gore and overall subject matter. However, both shows are set in beautifully created fantasy worlds that are filled with unique and memorable characters that you can't help but fall in love with. The action sequences will keep you engaged throughout and the more mature themes will get you thinking about life on a deeper level. If you enjoy fantasy, action, with some romance thrown in as well, then definitely give this show some screen time.

COMMENTS FOR AKAME GA KILL!
Re:Zero and Akame ga Kill are similar in regards to the fact that both of them initially appear to be a light comedy action story, but they both end up sharing much of the same themes later throughout the series.
Both involve the main character enduring many hardships, including death, forcing them to maintain a strong mentality which will continue to push them forward towards their final goal. They both share episodes of despair which will hit you right in the feels, they both have some comedy relief throughout the series, and both main characters experience romantic feelings (which I personally enjoyed most).
I regard them both very highly and thoroughly enjoyed both of them; I think if you enjoyed one, you should consider watching the other. As a forewarning without giving away any spoilers, I will say that Akame ga Kill is a much darker themed story than Re:Zero, but I would not let that deter you from watching both.
I watched Re:Zero around the time when I first got into anime, and now I'm watching Akame ga Kill, and it's giving me serious Re:Zero vibes. They were both made by White Fox, and are also both fantasy. Whenever I watch an episode of one, it reminds me of the other. I am enjoying both very much, and I recommend both.

COMMENTS FOR GRIMGAR: ASHES AND ILLUSIONS
Both are relatively mellow variations on the "trapped in a fantasy game" genre. Focus is less on action/plot and more on emotional and personal relationships between characters. Both shows are unapologetic about their approach. The central themes that revolve around each show is hammered in with every episode, and results can be brutal, grueling and overwhelming in both cases.
Story wise, both shows feature protagonist(s) who are pulled into a brand new world without consent or ability to escape. Both main protagonists start out very weak, and have to accept very lowly roles first. As each series progresses, both male protagonists get braver, stronger, and more experienced. However, both carry scars, either emotional or physical, that appear as literal obstacles to them in the story.
The main difference between the two anime is the theme and personalities of the characters. Grimgar's characters are unwillingly stranded in a new world, where the first things they learn are humility and survival. ReZero's main man is an arrogant young man who retains memory from his own time, where fantasy rpgs exist. Thus ReZero's character comes off as narcissistic, naive person who doesn't fully understand the severity of his situation. Both of these ideas are heavily explored in each series, and is the main point of separation for the two main characters and each series as a whole.
On the whole, ReZero is more volatile, violent and potentially shocking, whereas Grimgar is one long, slow burning journey to the finish. But regardless, both are very good shows that provide fresh, interesting new approaches to the "trapped in a fantasy world." The art, the writing, the stories, and the characters are all very well done.
Overall, I found ReZero to be the more exciting show, while Grimgar is more soothing and relaxing.

COMMENTS FOR RE:CREATORS
Re:Zero makes us empathize with a character transported from our world to a parallel one, while in Re:Creators characters from anime, manga and video games get transported from their realities to ours. Both shows can be recognized for great OSTs, interesting characters and thrilling plot lines.
