There are “waifus” all around anime – the beautiful women who people idolize and want to marry. However, true people of culture that the real gems are in “husbandos” – the beautiful men who people idolize and want to marry. As a girl who is clearly cultured and well educated in this topic, I’ll be showing you the top 10 husbandos in anime!
Sebastian Michaelis (Black Butler)
Today, we’ll be starting off this list with Sebastian Michaelis, from the Black Butler series. He’s the butler of the Phantomhive Household, and acts as the son, Ciel Phantomhive’s bodyguard. Now, that’s great and all, but there’s a little something that you should know:
Sebastian is a demon butler.
Don’t get me wrong, though. Just because he’s a demon doesn’t mean he isn’t caring. He actually does seem to legit care about Ciel sometimes, even if he does insult him every now and then.
Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)
Listen, bud. There is no way a “top 10 husbandos” list can be complete without Sasuke. I’ve only read the first volume of the Naruto manga, and even I know that.
Sasuke’s your typical cold-exterior, warm-interior type of husbando, but hey, things don’t have to be groundbreaking for a husbando to be cute and sweet. Even one of the characters in the show, Sakura, has a crush on him, and I personally can see where she’s coming from.
Todoroki Shouta (My Hero Academia)
Man, I really need to get into MHA, don’t I.
Anyway, Todoroki Shouta is from the My Hero Academia anime. Like Sasuke, Todoroki’s got a cold and “why even bother” personality, which stems from his upbringing. He has the ice power (quirk?), and despises the fire power (again, quirk?) in general.
I just want to give the soft baby a hug –
Zero Kiryu (Vampire Knight)
I’ve talked about Zero once before, in Top 10 Vampire Anime, but we’ll touch on him again because I am just an absolute sucker for white hair. He is the main character Yuki’s close friend, though he harbors a deep hatred for vampires. Despite that, he’s still not a bad guy and definitely deserves a spot on the husbando list.
Viktor Nikiforov (Yuri!!! on Ice)
No, before you even say it, Yuri on Ice is not an actual yuri anime taking place on an iceberg. Yuri’s just the name of the main character.
Anyway, Viktor here is a whiz at figure skating; an absolute madlad legend from Russia, who Yuri always looked up to as a child. However, he lost his inspiration after everyone got used to how he would always break records, but seeing Yuri on the rink made him regain it, and he decided to become Yuri’s coach in order to unlock his true potential.
Not only does our boy have beautiful white hair, but he’s also a legendary figure skater. What more could you want?
Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
Levi Ackerman is constantly referred to as one of humanity’s strongest soldiers; having taken out countless Titans in his time. It’s even hinted that he is the most powerful soldier of all-time. Though he always looks like he’s constantly disinterested, he’s thinking pretty much 24/7, and is considered a bit of a clean freak, too.
Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul)
Okay, I can see why this one would be a bit of a controversial opinion, but do hear me out. Ken may be a half-ghoul who some could describe as self-loathing and others as edgy, but nevertheless, he’s still a very sweet and very caring person who never wanted his fate of being a halfie.
Kaneki didn’t deserve it dangit-
Now, we’ll be finishing off this article with a couple bonus guys, from video games, to really bring this to 10!
Vildred (Epic 7)
Now, even though I am a fan of the video game Summoner’s War, I recently got into a competitor game, Epic 7, and whoo-boy, there may be a ton of waifus in E7 but dang if they don’t got some husbandos.
For all you E7 fans out there, you know darn well that husbandos may be scarce in this game, but when they’re there, they’re at the very least a solid 8/10. Our boy Vildred is no exception, let me tell you that. Do you know how hard it was for me to leave just one E7 guy here in this list? If it were up to me, at the very least Kayron, Sez and a couple others would’ve made the list.
With a hero description of “Due to his humorous style of speaking, many mistake Vildred as being light-hearted, but he has a serious side that leads him to stubbornly push ahead with what he thinks is right,” not only is Vildred really attractive, he also happens to be one of the best farmers in the game, and makes clearing stages for experience way easier. I sadly do not have a Vildred, but hey, I got Ken, so I can’t complain. (Regular, elemental Ken, mind you. Not Martial Artist.)
Alucard (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night)
No, I will have you know that I am not biased, even though I played SoTN to completion a couple months ago. Despite SoTN having so-bad-it’s-good voice acting – e.g. the infamous Die monster opening lines – the game itself actually has a lot of upsides. These include its really pretty 2D graphics, the banger soundtrack, and, of course, the main character, Alucard.
Born a dhampir (half vampire, half human), Alucard has set out on his mission to kill his father, Dracula, and end his reign of terror once and for all.
Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII)
Okay, look, I’ma be real here: though I’m much more of a Cid Highwind person, Vinny here definitely has a lot going for him. As one of the two secret characters in the game, Vincent’s got the mysterious past, the good looks, and the really good skill set, though his limit breaks are a bit… not optimal, shall we say. He’s so popular that he ended up getting his own spinoff game, Dirge of Cerberus, though I’m told it’s quite weak.
And before any of you ask me if his voice is deeper than I thought it’d be in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, let me tell you we do not talk about that movie here.
Anyway, that’s it for this top 10 list! Do you have any other husbandos that you think would’ve fit the list? Let me know in the comment section down below! I’m Sara Ann, and I’ll see you in the next article!
